Re: Final Batches of CEP Phase 1 have been loaded.

The plural 'applications' maybe that it looks in the beta bucket?

Would guess it's more along the line of BOINC doesn't write application(s), file(s) and so on...

A couple more variations around the theme of "No work sent", interestingly can also get "No work available" in cases of reached daily quota, or due to "Max wu's in progress" (the last isn't for WCG).

Anyway, appart for users only running with DDDT selected, Rice is a frequent reason for getting "no work available"...

As far as badges goes, if nothing unforseen surfaces, should get a green CEP-1 in a couple days. Since 14-day-caches isn't really an option in WCG, it's very unlikely will get enough CEP-1 for a sapphire, so next target is gold in Rice.

Hmm, afterwards, I'll maybe finally reach bronze in HCMD-2. blushing

Re: Final Batches of CEP Phase 1 have been loaded.

An E001052 just came through. 103 batches to go till the last in E001155. That's 206,000 NEW tasks by approximation.

Re: Final Batches of CEP Phase 1 have been loaded.

Thus about 20 days of work to send out? With many crunchers caches full it probably will be close to 10 or so days till the last validation? tongue tongue tongue

At this moment you have got a silver badge: 45-90 days
First try to get the gold badge (90 days)
Ruby is the badge for 180 days

An E001052_183C just came through. 103 batches to go till the last in E001155. That's 206,000 NEW tasks by approximation.

Picked up an E001058_201C with near exactly 26 hours in between. Looks there's more going out than being validated presently as 9,600 are shown in yesterday's stats. 6 batches is equivalent to 12,000 results in quorum 2.

If there is that much hoarding and do no returns in time, the servers start sending out extra copies (waste of time) and abort messages when quorums are complete. Not helping anything but reduce grid efficiency and will only postpone the phase 1 complete declaration.

And remember, the backup copies only go to those with a shortish buffer, so they are bound to come back much quicker increasing the abort notifications, so tune it down in time if you want to have a chance grabbing them and don't want lists of 'server aborted'. The servers do know return histories btw so to get back in the 'fast class' takes time ;P

hoarding
Yesterday I was trying to caculate when I will have enough CEP for my Badge. It was not easy because I had to add up the 6 pages of Pending WU! I don't abort units even if I pass my goal (and no one else should either) Badges are fun but it should not get in the way of the Science. -Jasm

Re: Final Batches of CEP Phase 1 have been loaded.

Just calculated with the abacus and wet finger that there are an approximate 80,000-85,000 results that needs return / completion / validation. Effectively 8 full production days, requiring an interim server storage of 400 Gb uncompressed. Pretty borderline with a 10 day deadline on the project tasks.

(could be thoroughly wrong, again ;>)

Re: Final Batches of CEP Phase 1 have been loaded.

Just did a estimate and it looks like I am within a few CPU days of my goal with what is in queue and pending. I have added Flu to the mix so I will be winding down on this project. This would be a lot easier without pages and pages of pending. -Jasm

Ok, last estimates show about 14.5 days or new work remaining for the Clean Energy Project.
