Re: Christians are giving......come give with us!

Nice rig there! Sounds like a crunching beast, and it looks like a very clean build. (The red is very eye-catching, too!) Thanks for posting pics, and you'll have to let us know what new video card goes in there.

Doing well here. I've been working from home since March, and will probably do so for the foreseeable future. We have really been blessed in many ways during this time. That's not to say we have been without trials, but God has shown Himself in the trials and in good times. I do believe God is up to some big things, even though I do not understand how it all works. Just keep trusting and being obedient in my own life.

Hope everyone is doing well! I need to swing by the forums.

Re: Christians are giving......come give with us!

Hey Col323! Thanks for checking in! Glad to hear you are doing well. Our private forums seem to be down right now. I haven't had a chance to look into it. I was thinking of trashing it anyway and creating something new. phpBB has been a pain to keep updated and we get inundated with spammers trying to create accounts. As soon as I figure out a way to prevent it, they figure out how to circumvent that.

By the way, I don't know if everyone remembers oliviathefirst, but I know a few will. I'm sad to report that she has passed away. I've been a Facebook friend for years and got an alert for her birthday on 8/17. She would have been 96. Apparently, it was sometime over the past year. RIP, Elaine!

Ah yes. I remember oliviathefirst. I had no idea she would have been 96 this year. That is a full life - I can imagine a very fruitful one too. Sorry to hear of her passing. I look forward to meeting her face to face someday.

Forgot about the forum headaches. No worries. I really appreciate all your hard work to provide a hangout for so many years.

We're getting close to 23 Million results! Great crunching, team!
Also, we're doing pretty well in a couple of current challenges. Both are COVID-related and we are in 4th.

Re: Christians are giving......come give with us!

I finally got off my butt and replaced the hard drive in my PC yesterday. The old one had been in continuous use 24/7 for 9 1/2 years crunching WCG, and they don't last forever (found out it was a Seagate, like the new one). Was kind of nervous using the imaging software, because I wasn't familiar with some of the terms and options, but everything went OK. Took about 3 hours. Afterwards, I took the PC out in the driveway and blew the dust out with my air compressor (set at about 10 PSI).

Will definitely be interesting to see how the challenge goes. This time of year I have two machines down due to heat. Kind of surprised they don’t do more challenges in the middle of winter during prime crunching season.

Re: Christians are giving......come give with us!

I agree, pandelta! The only reason my main cruncher is up is because I just built it and wanted to see how it would do. Otherwise, it would be down for another couple of weeks. We've been in the 90s lately, but a cold front is coming through on Tuesday dropping us into the 40s with heavy snow forecast for the mountains. I love snow! :D

Glad it went well, littlepeaks! I remember a customer (auto body shop) taking their computer out to the garage and using a compressor. They didn't dial it down and it blew the heatsink, along with the CPU, completely off and halfway across the parking lot. Yeah, that machine was toast.... lol.

We hit 23,000,000 results! Great job team!
Results Returned (Rank) 23,003,319 (#26)

Re: Christians are giving......come give with us!

Our official placement in the 1st week of the Thor Challenge that ended yesterday was 17th! Well done! There are some pretty big teams in the challenge that normally don't participate in other challenges.
The top 50 move on to the second week. Invitations go out tomorrow. The final, 5th, week is for the top 20. So far, it looks like we'll be in the final week.
Good job, team!
