We still have work available to us and I believe it'll last past 40 days. There is no final estimate as there are batches that have not been created yet so I can't gauge a close enough estimate. We know the total number of batches to be created by the researchers. -Uplinger I'm not sure whether to thank you or curse you for that information . So much for my claim of contentment a few days ago .I think that I can manage to push Ruby through if I can keep a reasonably steady workload (I hope, I hope, I hope...) combined with the days above 90 that I already have. Ah well either way the chase is fun & in the end it's the projects that matter, not the colors of the badges. |

Ah well either way the chase is fun & in the end it's the projects that matter, not the colors of the badges. What?? You mean it's not about the badges ![]() The answer is obviously yes. It is about the Badges. And if anyone can tell us why, you will get a special cookie (no, not a "teh Interweb" cookie. I don't post here that much (just in our Team Recruiting thread almost daily, and those really add up after several years here). Just got off work and now am trying to enjoy life as it was meant to be ( I don't have that much time to post here in other Forums). Time to relax and smell the Roses (so to speak). Life is short, live it up! And if anyone here cannot explain why that it is about the Badges, I'll come back later (maybe a couple days or so and explain it myself). Think about it. Until then, Ciao! Time to go out and relax at a Mountain Cafe here in Colorado. ![]() |

What?? You mean it's not about the badges ![]() Shhhh, keep quiet wouldja, I'm just laying the groundwork in case Uplinger jerks the rug out from under me when I'm at 170 days. That way people will just accept "oh well, it's not about the badges" & not notice me yelling, swearing & kicking the dog.... ![]() |

The goal to strive for.
The marks of achievement. Something you actively manage. Beating other people to significant moments (every project now has a first to gold thread now, what do you think that is really for). It takes WCG from being something your computer does when you aren't gaming (or even working occasionally) to something you want to monitor, something that you are interested in and something that you keep returning to so you know how you are doing. It wouldn't surprise me to to find out WCG saw a significant increase in crunching after the introduction of the badges and an increase in their user retention rate. And my girlfriend thinks I'm too competitive, now if I could only get out of PV hell on this project. I mean seriously look at this; The Clean Energy Project 233,248 272 0:179:02:23:48 |

We still have work available to us and I believe it'll last past 40 days. Hmmm... Then I can get the Ruby upgrade. Emerald should also be possible. Depending on the correctness of the estimate (and other factors) I might take a shot at Sapphire. |

Nah - I don't want half a board-full of slums. Just give me "Park Lane" and "Mayfair".
