Now that the problem has been resolved I think that a new topic should be posted in the forum that explains the problem and the correction rather than just leaving the resolution on page 5 of this thread. Page 5? Resolved? |

As much as I would like to run CEP, I will not be doing so again, until 'recompense' for wasted crunching time is recognised in some way.
Alternatively a fuller response as to the problem, and that it will not happen again (99.9%), may ameliorate my feelings .... |

We have cancelled E000765 through E000785 work units because of a problem of exceeding a file size. These will be rebuilt as new work units by the Harvard team to avoid this problem. Sorry for the troubles. New work units should be available now. I would like to restart crunching CEP, but I cant until I the bad jobs (noted above) are actually cancelled. It seems that people are still getting these WU. Are they cancelled or not? July 1 Viktors tells us the WU are cancelled and the next day crunchers are still downloading these bad WU. Please advise. We are wasting time here. |

Seems like none of the techs want to issue advice.
---------------------------------------- Part of this is because this is a holiday weekend in the United States and a good week for people to take vacation. Even CA's don't want to issue advice. You can suspend the task, abort it or if you dare change the max limit in the xml file. The latter might allow success, but none of the wingmans will have success, thus you may very well get no credit unless you are recompensated. And for those who is demanding recompensation, there is no guarantee, but in the past, WCG has been very generous for tasks that did not complete properly and chances are they will do this again. As I said, no guarantees. Please don't continue to request them. But be assured your requests have been heard. [Edit 1 times, last edit by bieberj at Jul 3, 2009 2:10:11 PM] |

Please note that the jobs after the impacted range are running fine to finish and going Valid. |

World Community Grid are under the impression they have fully informed everyone about this.
If you think this isn't good enough, I encourage you to send email to support@worldcommunitygrid.org and make your complaints heard. |

I have not more to analyze and/or to interpret than Viktors' post earlier in this thread.
----------------------------------------And all the US staff is probably on their July 4th week end as it seems natural... Sorry. Jean. |
