The dose probably contained the remnants of some protein left over from culturing and isolating the benign virus particles. I expect it transpired that a slightly higher than usual number of problemed people were allergic to this protein, rather than the non-infectious virus particles. But such reasons would not be considered so news worthy! |

The number of reported flu cases in the United States has dropped dramatically. BTW, it appears that the H1N1 flu vaccine is now widely available in the U.S. I got my shot, about a month ago, at the Air Force Academy.

Scientists use computer algorithms to develop seasonal flu vaccines
Defeating the flu is challenging because the virus responsible for the disease undergoes frequent changes of its genetic code, making it difficult for scientists to manufacture effective vaccines for the seasonal flu in a timely manner.
