Sorry, I just don't understand. My beta testing is altogether stuck at some 5 days. FAAH is at some 3 years during about the same period.
Why ? |

Basically, the "Beta project" (i.e., it's not a real project - just one used for testing all the other projects), is a very intermittent one, with very few WU's passing through it whenever there is some testing going on. Thus, the Beta badge is one of (if not) the hardest to get.
----------------------------------------Note, there ARE some hints/tips around in various threads which will increase your chances, but I'm not going to spill the beans here.... After all, I, and others had to read the threads - so why should I hand the tips on a plate [Edit 1 times, last edit by gb009761 at Feb 27, 2010 7:00:58 PM] |

I'm not the expert on that, like some coleagues that post a lot of things here. I'm very simple on that and work hard to get mine ones during more than 5 years on WCG... no secrets that can't share with you.
----------------------------------------So, I would like to say that it change all time with the time and WCG scenarios of active projects, along side of other important aspects. By now, if you are looking for increase your chances to get Betas, just unselect all projects, and just leave at least one of the intermitents projects selected at yours My Grid page, left side, MY Projects. After it, be sure that you really have selected Beta testing for all of yours profile (it will cover all machines types that you use). So, change your profiles settings (in each one in use) to fetch the servers for example with 0.1 day of interval between the connections temptatives with servers, and be sure that will work with an additional work buffer days of 0.1 days (no more are need). There are many distinct formulas that ran well here... find yours ! Now, if your devices are crunching other projects, don't forget to feed it from times to times, with some work to avoid run dry in anyone, and mainly, constantly return results to servers when fetching it (which will see that your devices appear be good ones to receive Betas). Watching the Beta foruns constantly as you can, once many times the announcement came almost at sametime that the Betas are released (but normally some comentaries and threads approaching the Beta test in highlight rising on the foruns days before the fact, as an indicative that we will have Beta test soon. Many time someone from QWCG Tech team launch posts with teasers about the tests, and increase the hungry of many crunchers linked and waiting for it...). Is important read the foruns once some times Beta tests are limited for just a set of crunchers that have some characteristics like specific OS, kind of machines, RAM capability, bandwitch conection capability, and so on. The last but not least, pray a lot too, ever if you are just asking for good luck on Betas ! if you got a Beta, jump immediatelly for your profile settings and increase your additional work buffer days and force the update button in all devcies that you can (the use of BOINCView or BOINCTask tools will improve it very well and in a centralized way). Just do it and have patience that you will be rewarded for sure. Have a lucky Beta tests crunch time when get it !
Cheers ! GIB@
