Wow - Out of 3 GB of memory on my computer, yoyo@home is using 2GB of it.
----------------------------------------The WU's "ecm 0.03" are taking a gig of memory each. two of them are running, and now I have wu's from other projects with a status of "waiting for memory". And my computer is running sooooooo slowwwwwwww... might have to pause a few of them.

Wow that is a lot. I run Evo and Muon and have not run Ecm in a while. Yoyo is a hosting service like WCG so every project is unique. That is a bunch of memory.

Yoyo runs so good I seldom pay any attention to it. ![]() |

Okay - I took the plunge and rebooted my computer into the 64 bit Vista world with Bonic. It took me a while to figure out that I have to run the manager as an administrator, but I got past that and it seems to be working good. It's kind of funny how this is working, too. It had to download all new WU's (expected), but it seems to be crunching them much faster. And the computer is running cooler, too. I read on Bonic that if you are running a 64 bit OS, the projects will try to send you 64 bit wu's. I'll see what it's like when it finishes a few, and compare them to Vista 32. I haven't booted into this in a while, so the updates are pouring in! LOL

Thanks for the welcome! Saw you guys over at GPUgrid and I joined up. :) Am a refugee from the grid.org/UD days, been crunching since 2000 IIRC lols! Am interested to hear how the Vista 64 works out, since I"m wary of using 64 bit OS, some of my older programs might not work. ![]() ![]() |

Mostly I would run it for a while, turn it off for even longer, get interested again, turn it off again. I got serious about it when I read about WGC. I'll post how Vista 64 works out. I used to use it all the time, but had to fall back to 32 bit to run some programs that could not be made happy with 64 bits. I'm hoping there are updates, now. I almost installed Windows 7 tonight. I was beta testing it on a different box and I really liked it. I have the release candidate, now, so this one is as final as it gets before it shows up in the stores. I still might install it tomorrow, though...
