Interesting, also with new Beta's?? Obviously! Probably starting soon... Fine tune your beta crunchers! Jean. Could you give us a clearer understanding about your interpretation of "soon"...? Please excuse my impatience, but I really can't wait, to crunch another 8 hours, 37 minutes and 7 seconds of ß-work, to finally get by silver ß-badge! And, to be honest, I am still convinced, that with the last Betas there were some irregularities with the granting of credits and cpu-time. I have followed all crunched wu's very accurately, and there were some, which were no grant was supplied... totto73, Soon is similar to before long. As for the points, quite off-topic, so ignoring it in this project update thread. In fact it belongs in beta, where it's already a subject with comments by knreed.

Could you give us a clearer understanding about your interpretation of "soon"...? Precisely? No. Say, between tonight and end of next week**, for example. Maybe. Possibly. Sorry, I don't know more, and I never promise something which is not under my control. Jean. **PS: Sunday is the last day of the week in France. If that matters. |

I know exactly the date HCMD phase II will start. but even under torture, i won't say it as it is a secret. Jean, si tu n'es pas au courant de la date exacte, je peux te la donner car je la sais de Céline qui est en contact direct avec Alessandra ainsi que de la responsable de la communication de l'institut de recherche. Par mail bien sur, pas içi. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by boulmontjj at Apr 4, 2009 7:20:05 PM] |

And if you do, I'll ask the Powers that Be to take all your badges and forum stripes away.

I know exactly the date HCMD phase II will start. but even under torture, i won't say it as it is a secret. JJ, in the IT business (where you are too) we use to call "the date you know" a target date. The date HCMD2 will start, we'll know it after receiving the first real WUs. Since you are in WCG since it started you should know that the above statement is particularly true here. Especially when you add the Decrypthon lab in the picture (how many delays since the end of HCMD1?). But you know my email, so you can send me your bet and we will check it after the launch. Back to my quoted post, it was talking of beta WUs, nothing more, and still it was just MY estimate. Cheers. Jean. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by JmBoullier at Apr 5, 2009 6:52:41 AM] |

OK,
I can't say that I really understand why the official start date would be...or need to be such a secret, but maybe that is just the internal frustrations of the father of a six year old Duchenne's Musculary Dystrophy son... So let's go with the almost as relevant/pressing question of: From the date that HCMD Phase II does begin, what is the anticipated time to completion for this project? Here I am assuming that the collaboration teams have estimated project participation rates... |

Hi doug_sanchez,
I have checked all the information available to me and it does not include any such estimates. Plenty about how much is to be done but nothing about how much of the grid will be devoted to HCMD2. Lawrence |

I'd imagine they need ot get an idea first of how fast and accurately results are coming in before estimating a completion timeframe.
----------------------------------------I'm eagerly awaiting the beginning too, hoping something can be done for my mother. It'll be the first thing I can do and feel like I'm helping. |

Hi,
I might be wrong and that's my sole opinion, but... As far as I can see ( I joined WCG in August 2007), there is a lot of people that joined WCG on the first place due to the first HCMD project. They are powering up their engines as we speak and I am pretty sure that the project will be the most supported among WCG and it will be crunched pretty quick. Decrypthon team alone has an average of delivering around 800k results a day, and the busiest projects receive around 70k results a day. At least what I can say is: Count on me as well! |
