Re: kold

Evening all

A mild but mostly overcast day here which was good enough to dry the bedding on the line.

Yes Little Mermaid, I actually witnessed the construction of a Danhaus in a small village north of Hamburg. The foundations had to be done by a local contractor and then a large lorry arrived and erected the wooden prefabricated sections. There was still a lot of work to do like loft insulation, central heating and flooring but it taught me a lot even though I had to deal with a hernia after too many heavy loads in a wheelbarrow over the rough terrain.

Re: kold

I do mean the game, old sage, the game ...
I'll stick to the game, because, to be honest, I'm once again on slightly deeper English water
than I can handle, so I'll stick with the game
... as to not compromise myself more than I usually do blushing

Re: kold

Good Morning!
Wonderful weather here, sunny, calm, crisp
- did I mention sunny?
Double sun cool

Hope you are well, too, Ted, and dog as well
- met a newly trimmed one yesterday; almost said: "Hello dog! Isn't it cold for you?"

Re: kold

Moaning all..............

Rather overcast and cool here this morning in the midlands;
The leaves are falling thick and fast and the spinney and fields look glorious with their carpet of autumn gold, I love the smell of the fallen leaves as they crunch and stir as I stomp through them in my walking boots.
The ducks on the pond nearby greet me loudly as they call to one another, 'grub up lads', as I throw a handfull of bread crumbs to them.
A group of Magpies swoop down to grab what they can and just as fast swoop up again before an Irate Canada Goose sounding like the alarm on a ship gets to them.
The Horse Chestnut trees have shed all their conkers now, It was a shame this years world conker championship was called off, 'because of high winds', 'elf n safety', even children aren't allowed to play conkers in the schoolyard anymore!, Sigh, childhood as been destroyed. sad

Have a wonderful day all........... good luck rose

Old Sage wink

Re: kold

I suppose you could say we were peace keepers but really it was occupation of Germany during the post war period with the zones marked out for the 'victors'.
The British zone was in the north with the Americans in the south, the French along their border area and the Russians in the east which was already sealed off.
I'm sure many of them hated the indignity of occupation but we had money to spend in places like the Hamburg nightclub area depended on this to recover.
It made me like Germany and so I have spend quite a lot of time there since.
