Well is full,
---------------------------------------- but the sky is now blooo hearty breeze 10/15 mph gustsHad some entertainment today from both sides of the house at the front Where I'm sitting now watching birds coming to the feeder for sunflower hearts various tits and gold finches . ![]() And at the back I watched sparrows tugging at dead grass hilarious just like those cartoon birds tugging at worms. ![]() Monday, a wild wet and windy Day.We had a swarm of bees we have four Hives but it seem's they didnt like the home we had given them and went and hung themselves on a nearby Bush !!! ![]() Although I had heard about Swarms I'd never seen one despite having been around bees in my Youth I thought it would be Buzzzzin but it was a silent living thing all movement as I suppose those in the centre moved to the outer ranks to keep cool I wish I had a remote temperature reading device. I know how you get Honey,You just pay some spondolicks over the checkout at the supermarket . . Ah But, No But No thats not right Its a very complicated process, that Hive May contain 50,000 bees. All split up & belonging to different trade unions.I know we all know the Queen The Worker & the drone But more than that there are the Heating and vent guys regulating the hive conditions. The refuse collector's sweeping floors clear of detritus that you can imagine 50k bees make Bob the builder Bees making wax combs The gad about travelling bees who venture out to collect raw material Pollen. Having bought it back and deposited it in the combs yet another gang comes along and inject an enzine to turn the pollen into honey.Propalis a substance that you might have heard of is something Bob the Builder bees use to fill in gaps sorta Pollyfilla I Guess So all that effort Then The Man from Gales comes by and swipes the lot ![]() ---------------------------------------- [Edit 3 times, last edit by densnaps at May 18, 2011 6:49:33 PM] |

Evening all
Rain for the last hour although drizzle is probably a better description so I don't think it will be doing much to the dried out garden. At present the forecast for tomorrow is OK so I am still hoping for a few hours at Lord's. |
