Good morning All.............. smile

April Fool's Day

Mackenzie put a whoopie cushion
on the teacher's chair.
Makayla told the teacher
that a bug was in her hair.

Alyssa brought an apple
with a purple gummy worm
and gave it to the teacher
just to see if she would squirm.

Elijah left a piece of plastic
dog doo on the floor,
and Vincent put some plastic vomit
in the teacher's drawer.

Amanda put a goldfish
in the teacher's drinking glass.
These April Fool's Day pranks
are ones that you could use in class.

Before you go and try them, though,
there's something I should mention:
The teacher wasn't fooling
when she put us in detention.

Re: .

I saw Jonathan Ross in a department store last week.

He was acting very suspiciously, looking at the kitchen utensils,
So I walked up to him and said, "You'll probably get caught if you steal anything."

Wait for it

He replied, "Well, that's the whisk I'm willing to take."

Re: .

Evening all

A dull morning has turned into a bright and sunny afternoon after I had decided it looked too risky to put the first coat of treatment on the new side door/gate.

The Guardian always makes a feature of All Fools day. It started a few years ago with a big supplement about a newly found island, a beautiful place in the mild tropics and just the place for the ideal holiday. It took a while to recognize that the place was called Sans Serif.

Do kids still make a feature of it? Just as well if the commercial world hasn't spoilt it just as Mothering Sunday when we used to walk to the alter and get a small posy of violets to actually hand to our mother even though the real celebration was about the Mother Church. It celebrated a time when there was a short holiday so that families could get together one weekend and attend a service together.
Commerce and the profit motive then gets into the act and I had a job to get through the entrance to Sainsbury's this morning through all the very expensive bouquets trying to tempt people to spend money.

Re: .Diseases of Brunus edwardii

Diseases of Brunus edwardii An April fools day skit back in
1972 Seems to fit our thread dont you think :
The Veterinary Record, the weekly journal of the British veterinary profession, contained an article about the diseases of Brunus edwardii, which was described as a species "commonly kept in homes in the United Kingdom and other countries in Europe and North America." The article warned:
Pet ownership surveys have shown that 63.8 percent of households are inhabited by one or more of these animals, and there is a statistically significant relationship between their population and the number of children in a household. The public health implications of this fact are obvious, and it is imperative that more be known about their diseases, particularly zoonoses or other conditions which might be associated with their close contact with man.

For months afterwards the correspondence section of the Veterinary Record was dominated by letters about Brunus edwardii, most of which offered new observations about the species. The article proved so popular that it was eventually published in a special edition by Whittington Press, although it was reported that the British Library later had difficulty deciding how to classify it, as fact or fiction. Brunus edwardii is more commonly known as the "Teddy Bear".
