Oh dear, looks like I am marooned indoors again - thick white covering of everything
I need to go out to get my 'weekly' newspaper - only have one each week (mainly for the TV programmes!). ![]() |

----------------------------------------dull and damp today. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Merle, Hope your precrimbo dental adventure didnt put a damper on the Christmas scoffing I did think about you and how was Alfie?>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I'm about to stop getting my Daily News paper fix. I do have a discount deal that costs £100 less than news stand price but as I read the on line version ???????? I just enjoy the morning cuppa while reading the Paper Paper...... Will just get the odd one in passing. Worked out that £365 quid a year is more than I want to pay ![]() ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by densnaps at Jan 2, 2010 9:02:25 AM] |

The knashers did stand up to the task but I must admit I was a bit nervous about it - still am!! One thing is certain, there is no way I would risk a sticky toffee, or anything 'clinging' like that!

Oops, missed the Alfie bit! He was his usual 'darling' self!
We had 11 for Christmas lunch, and then the usual invasion of friends and hangers on in the afternoon and evening, and he didn't stop once - he was in dog heaven - doing the rounds of people to throw his toys for him to retrieve! (I should say here that he demolished my pressie to him in roughly 5 minutes! It was a lovely little toy dog, pale blue, which I took a lot of time choosing in the shop!). Anyway, he appeared to really enjoy the day, not stopping once to rest. But it was so funny on Boxing Day 'cos he was absolutely 'knackered' but trying not to show it! Not helped by the fact that we all went for a 5 mile walk in the morning! He is such a poppet though - I love him to bits. Very excited as I have been designated to go over and keep him company and 'walk him' on Tuesday when they are all back to work! |

Oh I am sorry Den; I shouldn't really laugh, but it was the picture you conjured up in your description of two guys trying to get you to your feet!
Any bruises showing yet? |

Evening all
At least we all seem to have made it into the new decade. Here it remains pretty cool but free of real ice and no sign of the snow that was. Sounds like you're ready for a good massage Den with some tall Swedish blond who can slap you around a bit. Good though that it seems only bruising to worry about. The thought of hobbling around in plaster always terrifies me. I don't think I could do without the newspaper. For me it's probably he best value to keep in touch with what's happening and we need two crosswords, the other I subscribe to the Times one and download daily. I have no interest in paying for television which, in any event, has little interest in looking into the news in depth, The paper gives me some idea in depth, plus contrasting views of world events quite apart from what's happening in sport and the arts. I usually visit the web sites daily but I can't really settle with comfort to read long articles on-line. I'm clearly one of a dying breed as papers struggle to survive and, when I go on the tube it is rare now to see anyone reading other than the freebies picked up at the station. |
