Well it is Christmas Day (just) so I wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a safe, healthy and prosperous New Year.

I shall be signing off now for 2 or 3 days - spending Christmas with the family and a few 'hangers on' - 11 of us all together plus the darling little 'doggie', Alfie. He, of course, will need walking so what is the betting that all heads will turn towards me!

Evening all

Very mild here, it's difficult to believe the road was white just a few days ago before any hope of a White Christmas disappeared in the rain.

Still, we enjoyed the rib of beef and a bottle of good claret from my mini cellar ie the far corner of the larder under the stairs. Just one bottle left now of the 2000 vintage so I hope I make it for another year.
