Good morning everyone
---------------------------------------- Sounds like if you live in town (in England) you have to keep your lot looking a certain way or they'll do it for you and send you the bill...right? How about if you don't live in town? Do you get to keep your lot as you please? Y'all have a great day ![]()

Evening all
A sunny day here so I'm wondering if I'll have to have one more go with the mower. |

Just to come in before our local community gardener Blanco Ivan
----------------------------------------He who sees a need to tidy the local area ( as I see it he does it because he sees scruffy areas) he does it out of public spirited care for his local community no charge just likes to see things neat I know he isn't about to blow his own trumpet but he deserves praise HIp Hip Hooray. Ivan is just of an age that likes to see the local streets and gardens neat Once again folks three cheers for Ivan and his gang Hip Hip hooray I think in the states local groups do much the same claiming sections of highway for Kleaning a section of highway ...?? >>>>>>>>>>>>>> On to things medical As & if we need to visit our local Doc we can get an appointment mostly within a day, if a life threatening event the medics can come to the house almost at once . Visits to the Gp's surgery result in a prescription that is filled at the local pharmacy cost £7.20 per item if under 65 years of age . Cost after that age Nil , as to the detail on the 'script its important to point the detail out to your doc / pharmacist and as you say AC things can go pear shaped |

Yes apartsman, it's much as Den says. My leaf vacuuming was in respect of my own garden (yard) and the streets outside are largely the responsibility of the local government (our Borough Council) but they usually restrict their work to the actual road and footpaths.
Our local residents association works to try to improve the general environment of the neighbourhood by planting gardens and, from time to time, clearing out rubbish that collects in the areas off the thoroughfare. Yes, it's socially useful, but also becomes good fun as you enjoy the company of the group that turns out. |

Good morning all........very dark this am, dark when I come home from work too, I guess winters arrived!. I like the idea of social interaction through gardening/street tidying etc', would be good to see the probationary service take this on with the ASBO breed, infact we have an old quarry near us that could do with a few rocks breaking up have a good day............ Morning all
---------------------------------------- Our weather peeps on the TV said it was going to be " cracking flags "* today ...... Errrr no sign of that yet >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Talking about the Garden Guru from down in the smoke Ivan, along with Tonys thoughts on who else could be involved in community work Ivan said it was nice to see the mix of people that made up the work gang......... I have a picture of Ivan in a Hoodie and sagging trousers extending his hand , forefinger and pinkie extended crying " 'respect bro " leading a surly gang of Asbo lads. He could enthuse them by telling them they were Guerilla Gardeners "Like' Know wat I mean " "init " >>>>>>>>> Last night went to a magic lantern show given to Our Prostate support group by the manager of Leighton Moss RSPB Reserve Bloomin terrific photography and very interesting chat about a unique environment reed beds and wet land I pass by at least a couple of times a week The birds don't just stay on the reserve so see them in the fields near by. I'm just lucky to live in this area. * "Cracking Flags" means its going to be HOT it refers to the sun being so hot as to Crack the flagstones "Flags" ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by densnaps at Oct 14, 2009 8:07:54 AM] |
