Evening all
Dry but coolish for shopping this morning, good for my brisk walk. Doc told me yesterday it was important to get plenty of brisk walking in when I didn't like to mention to him that his walking is from the medical centre car park to his surgery room. Nevertheless, I enjoy mine but can do it only when I'm on my own 'cause my wife has slight problems with her ankles and can but amble relatively slowly. So she takes the bus and we meet up at the supermarket. Was discussing supermarket shopping with friends that are at present on holiday in the West Indies and we came to the conclusion that there are two main types of shopper. She and I have the objective of getting what we want and away. My wife and her partner want to look at everything, spend some time picking the very best cauliflower and so on. It would be boring if we were all the same and I would be at a loss to say to what good purpose I would put the half hour I saved by using my approach. AND it's only once a week and we don't come to blows. |

Good morning all............Man flu turned out to be the full blown stuff, knocked me low for the last 48hrs, my own fault, been too busy to get a flu jab must learn there is more to life than WORK.I hope everything is fine for you now JP, I agree there are worst things in life than a bout of flu, sharing are woes do's go some way to giving comfort to our selves, we all like to talk about our latest operation, visit to the quack or dentist etc' it's a normal human response to what life throws at us. 'A problem shared is a problem halved' Take care dear friends........... Old Sage ![]() |

mornin/arternoon all....
----------------------------------------just returned safely from a "Saturday Shop" I use Sainsbuggers Car park costs a quid for an hour but you get that refunded after shopping inside, Trot into town as Wednesdays and Saturdays we have a street market in the pedestrian area---- Proper breads ---- cakes -----fruit and veg-----specialist butchers, farmers home killed & cured bacon/ Pork cheeses .. all local produce .Plant stalls where I got two carrier bags of Wall flowers for a couple of quid that's like a jammed full sainsbuggers bag Back to the supermacardo to redeem my parking ticket .... Trolley rage under control Despite those people who insist on stopping just inside the door to discuss shopping strategy with spouse thereby blocking entrance, Once inside they are no better, browsing display on left they trail their trolley across the aisle. I miss out on the Freeby Bites cooked ham or tasty cheese on crusty bread that are sometimes on offer so will have to make my own elevenses when I get home Had a discussion with a lady about the morality of removing the large chunk of stem from heads of broccoli some times a third of total weight .We came to the conclusion that it's the same as ripping the banana you wanted from the bunch though not sure S-B managers would see it in same light Through the check outs, declined local schools youths offer to pack my bag for a trip to Australia World youth games . good cause and I did throw a contribution in their bucket Its just that they havnt a clue about bag packing soft stuff at bottom chuck tins on top or as it comes off the conveyor I suspect they havnt helped mum with the shopping since the were toddlers And I bet they don't know their mums Co-op Number !!!!! like what I does ![]() PS Its 296132 .................. wonder if there's any unclaimed Divi' ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by densnaps at Oct 10, 2009 12:37:17 PM] |
