from the Brompton Catalogue
----------------------------------------Brompton ride around central London Saturday 3rd October In honour of the Brompton World Champion 2009 weekend, we are extending our activities to include a celebration of the city in which our bikes are built.... I have seen pictures But of course cant find them now, of "City Gents " in bowlers Brief cases& Brollys riding the Brompton.taking part in some event in the City, One of our therapists has one & they certainly fold up small she uses it to travel to the railway station each day folds it up boards the train and then the same at the other end. Neat job There is one rather large draw back however. There is a reason the city gents like them While they wear those funny stripy jackets on the stock exchange floor They are creatures that are a slave to fashion dont like things to spoil the line of the jacket Things like big wodges of Bank notes To save any nasty unsightly lines/bulges They spend £600.00 on a bike like this Thats the basic Folder 'Spect there are tasty extras to fit on so that should keep the sartorial elegance in line. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by densnaps at Oct 5, 2009 8:58:57 PM] |

Raining over here too. Although I haven't yet got the central heating on. Being this far south, the weather tends to be milder. Good plan not to live below sea-level.
My bike is a fold up one, but doesn't fold up anywhere near as small as a Brompton. I do love it and think having a bike I can fold up and put in the boot of the car is great. I am a bit jelous of Brompton owners though, since they are so small. (The bikes, not the owners) They get more expensive for being lighter to lift. ![]() |

Morning all
----------------------------------------Got my self a puncture in front offside tyre yesterday a small 1inch nail had worked its way into the tread must have picked it up after the race Any way it cost £15.00 itemised bill showed that was plugging Tyre/Tire, new Valve ,Balancing wheel. And the best bit "Uniflate tyre & inflation" actually didnt charge for this but it was listed ? It of course included Vat £1.96 >>>>>>>>>>> Living below Sea level is not a good Idea I Think it might put you off looking at property when most of the Houses have Davits fixed to the roof ? and people live on the Port or Starboard side of the road. I in fact live near to the lowest geographical point in England 94 ft Below sea level The fact that its now a Lake says quite alot ---------------------------------------- [Edit 3 times, last edit by densnaps at Oct 6, 2009 7:45:18 AM] |

Good morning everyone
---------------------------------------- Great view JP, looks about 1750ft to me. I'm about half way between you and Dens @900ft. Dens- glad to hear theres another rider here. I'll try to get a pic of thier bikes. I'm sure alot of our team will appreciate my oldest sons bike. He repainted it as a POW-MIA memorial. Y'all have a great day ![]()
