Re: Yorkshire bandits Recruiting Now

...I have just had a electricity bill that says

"During the next 12 months, we estimate that your electricity costs will be £3072.87"...

I thought mine was bad, at £105/month, until I got on a better tariff they (I'm also with nPower) previously hadn't mentioned, which dropped it to £77/month on paperless bills - am still on Economy-7 tariff, as moving to a flat-rate tariff would (apparently) still have been more expensive.

Hello to the new team from the just-outside-of-Halifax corner of Yorkshire, by the way - I'm already in the UK team, but wish a local team all the best with their crunching! smile

Re: Yorkshire bandits Recruiting Now

A happy Yorkshire Day to one and all, particularly those not fortunate enough to live here.

"The Yorkshire people are by reputation robust in physique, though not especially handsome, efficient and vigorous in their undertakings, blunt in speech and rather well satisfied with themselves. They dislike excessive expressions of emotion and are cautious with strangers, but once they accept you they are staunchly if soberly faithful. They prefer practice to theory. Above all, they are extremely independant. An Abbot of York wrote to Henry VIII:

'There be such a company of wilful gentlemen within Yorkshire as there be not in all England besides.'

In Queen Elizabeth I's days the men of Halifax were spoken of as behaving:

'after the rude and arrogant manner of their wilde country.'

It would be rash to suggest that Yorkshire folk have changed much since those days, and this applies to the women as to the men.

A Yorkshire person has a strong backbone; lean on it but do not try to bend it."

Re: Yorkshire bandits Recruiting Now

My laptop back in use - turns out this is the most powerful computer I have, so when it's away the results suffer.

We now need an Ivy or a Nora from Summe Wine to join us

Closing in on a decade

Love the Search Engine story

There might just be a reason why Microsoft, Cisco, Google, Apple have all formed in the USA.

Re: Yorkshire bandits Recruiting Now

By the way NPower have just told me they cannot bill me on their "Super Tarriff"

They have updated their Billing Systems and they cannot cope with an Economy 10 meter

So I owe them £750 for 5 of the coldest northern style months of the year

according to my multiplying KWh by the 3 tariffs they supply me on.

So for the whole year their £3072.87 estimate is way off mark (as expected)

However NPower cannot create a bill for me until I pay an Electrician to provide a Certificate of Conformance for them so they can change my meter for an Economy 7 one (2 tariffs) at which point I will then be allowed NPower's best Tariffs or Uswitch away.

Do you think I should pay an electrician so that my electricity supplier can create a bill for me ?

ROFLMDO

(That's derrière)

You couldn't make it up. I managed to get an Omnishambles into the conversation I had with them.

Dave
