Re: Yorkshire bandits Recruiting Now

Yes Betty's. The one in Harrogate centre always seems to be too far busy and Harlow Carr is not far away. My favourite is the one in Ilkley though.

One of the few other famous things to come out of Brighouse, besides the band, is
Brandy Snap

This was a report in the local paper some years ago, including a trip down memory lane for some of us. Well worth a read.

I visited the one in Ilkley some 30(?) years ago. I don't think 30 blokes on rugby tour was the type of clientel they were looking to attract! wink

Something that could not not be more Yorkshire

Enjoy hypnotized

If it goes wobbly in the middle its just my attempts to contain a huge belly laugh.

In my defence I have played Clarinet in a Band (Once in the Bandstand in Whitby) enjoy playing Guitar these days and enjoy good music of all types .

Not quite Brighouse and Rastrick but you have to appreciate the dedication that goes in to getting all that together.

A beautiful sunny Sunday evening in Yorkshire ...unlike today biggrin

Re: Yorkshire bandits Recruiting Now

Thanks for the videos David.
Brass still very popular round here - local school has Saturday morning music groups of various sorts to teach it. They get pretty good too.

Re: Yorkshire bandits Recruiting Now

Morning rogerggbr

Those points of mine (wink) come from just 3 PC's

The first is a server that in total takes 120W at the power socket and is running a 905E PhenomII 4 cores at 2.5Ghz TDP 65W

the second is a 6 core 1055T PhenomII 95W edition overclocked to 3Ghz. This is my main PC

my fastest box of tricks is a 8 Core FX8150 overclocked to 4Ghz but consumes 125W by itself

The last 2 warm my flat the first runs www.theglobalthermometer.com from a strange faraway land known as Nottinghamshire, there be Dragons biggrin

4*2.5 + 6*3 + 8*4 =60Ghz of 64bit loveliness smile

Prior to the launch of the GPU capability on the WCG, which is the most efficient way to number crunch, I had a can you do more with less [power] challenge running.

Trying to be as green as possible while still chucking out the results

Wish me luck by the way today I'm off over the border to help out some folk in that place they call <looks over shoulder> Lancashire shock

Blackburn. a place that wishes it was in Yorkshire whistling

Dave

Re: Yorkshire bandits Recruiting Now

Hi David,
Good luck in Lancashire. Plenty of folk in Earby (nice pub last time I was there) wish they could come back to Yorkshire as the village has changed hands more than once wiki entry

Powerful computers you have there. Mine are mostly old/spares not doing much else - one is just a print server that has to be left switched on so we can print. It lives in the cellar with the printer, just chugging away keeping the cellar warm, along with an old laptop that has a broken screen.
Another I have is an old server (HP ML350) which I put a copy of vmware on to have a go at virtualising. This has now ended up running 4 x desktop linux OS, each running WCG. Initially this was just to see how hard I could push it, but I have let it run.
