Re: Yorkshire bandits Recruiting Now

Hi David,

LeTour is going to be big. Apparently a local playing field area nearby is expecting 10 thousand visitors. 1 week to go.

No parking around the route from Friday morning:-

p.s. Have they sold the flood yet? This is the sort of thing that keeps me awake :)

Re: Yorkshire bandits Recruiting Now

Hi Roger

Tomorrow it is and it's chucking it down (Flood is still for sale by the way :-) )

Le Cyclists will be greeted by the rain and the smell of recently laid tarmac

Going anywhere this weekend has been abandoned. The local Sainsburys sans Food as the siege mentally picks up the pace. The roads will start being closed from 5am and will re-open "possibly" by 8pm. Mum and Dad have it the worst they live in Addingham and get "Le Tour" twice.

I'm going to see if I can get some good pics of them coming through Otley and then try get over to Addingham tomorrow,

This might be a challenge

Eerily quiet this morning in Otley

We're in lock down. Roads closed.

Skies looking brighter but this is the calm before the storming Cyclists

Re: Yorkshire bandits Recruiting Now

Those stunning pictures for the whole TDF route relied on 4 x fixed wing aircraft circling above to relay the signals. That's not including all the helicopters. Here is one of them today doing the route from Cambridge to London:-

After the end of the stage today they all headed across the channel South East - to do it all again. Every day for another 3 weeks.
