Urgent care is pretty hardcore, I see a bit of that in my role as a chaplain. Make sure you don't burn the candle at both ends. You should get Left 4 Dead and kill zombies with me and Blizzie to kill stress. |

Speaking of which, it would seem like we should expect a new post in Member News, probably early on tomorow, about what sounds to be some sort of server migration for WCG. That could be why we're seeing these new WUs with the much shorter deadlines. Short enough in fact to cause BOINC to pull them in ahead of work you already had in your queue. That probably increases the odds of a given WU ending up in the PV jail above the usual. The impact will be temporary I believe but not until after the start of the new year. We may well see some drop in our scores in the meantime. If this is really tied to the preparations for some sort of server migration, this may be where the back end database(s) get upgraded to newer code levels and the time it takes to run the stats gets shorter. This would also set the stage for the points to credits conversion at some point after this too. Good things overall - if I am recalling past threads correctly. http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=22984 |

Looks like there will be some amount of downtime/outage. Plan now so you can make sure you have enough work downloaeded to your machines that you can keep crunching through the outage. |

News from Orakk
----------------------------------------"I see me lad found the thread.. Managed to flip the old Ferguson, breaking me left leg & crushing the chest a tad whilst attempting to pull a much heavier forklift out of a bog. Cushioning the old tractors fall wasn't the brightest thing I've done but I do now have shiny titanium body parts fitted and them nurses do a great body wash. Thanks for all your thoughts folks, that was a close one." ![]() ![]() |
