Bummer! Missed the Top Ten by 12 points! Now if I could just get some of the almost 7000 points sitting in the PV jail out!  I know what you mean, Keith -- I haven't been in the top ten for 3 days, I think. Plenty in PV Jail, though. Like parmesian said, with our scores, it's a good problem to have. |

Speaking of which, it would seem like we should expect a new post in Member News, probably early on tomorow, about what sounds to be some sort of server migration for WCG. That could be why we're seeing these new WUs with the much shorter deadlines. Short enough in fact to cause BOINC to pull them in ahead of work you already had in your queue. That probably increases the odds of a given WU ending up in the PV jail above the usual. The impact will be temporary I believe but not until after the start of the new year. We may well see some drop in our scores in the meantime.
----------------------------------------If this is really tied to the preparations for some sort of server migration, this may be where the back end database(s) get upgraded to newer code levels and the time it takes to run the stats gets shorter. This would also set the stage for the points to credits conversion at some point after this too. Good things overall - if I am recalling past threads correctly. |
