Re: Please help us beta test the 6.2.25 World Community Grid - BOINC software

Installed on Vista X64 Ultimate Phenom 9850, XP Pro X32 Phenom 9600 and XP Pro X32 AMD 64 6000+ with no problems.

I like the 2min delay on startup.

I was a bit worried about the data directory move, but after a bit of research, I was pleased to find that this was automatic.

Re: Please help us beta test the 6.2.25 World Community Grid - BOINC software

Can you open up the BOINC manager, messages and select all from the top and do a copy / paste into a post here so we can read what BOINC is [not] doing correctly. You'd have to return to 6.2.25, else we don't learn from what went wrong, the purpose of the organized request for beta testing.

What options did you choose in the installer and did you install as regular user or one with administrative rights?

Thank and TTYL

Re: Please help us beta test the 6.2.25 World Community Grid - BOINC software

I installed this version on the 27th of Oct. and changed the proposed directories for the Exe's and for the Data (advanced install-mode).
The installation (exe and data) however was done in the default directory.
After installation I noticed that 64bit was not supported. Not a pity for WCG but for three other projects:
[PROJECTName] [error] App version has unsupported platform windows_x86_64; changing to windows_intelx86

De-installed WCG 6.2.25 and installed Berkeley's 6.2.19

Running fine.

Good point CP. The 6.2.25 package name says "... intelx86.exe" but maybe it could be highlighted in the installer interface itself that it's 32 bits.

cheers

Installed as service as recomended, restarted, could not have looked at anything as it would not funtion. Coud not invoke it by icons present or find executible file to start it and checked cpu activity to see what was running and no go.

This time worked and wu is running
