http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/11/elmo-live-...order-by-dutiful-parents/ (watch the video) Jonathan, can you mail one over? It tells stories!! Wow, I knew you were young, but I missed your age by about a decade! I had no idea you skipped all of middle and high school. In all seriousness Blizzie, I'm fighting with everything I've got to keep up with you. You make a serious contribution to this team. But it's Elmo. ![]() So what's this new rig I'm up against? Another quad? Are you ocing the first one? Is the dual core getting a liquid nitrogen coolant system so you can run 6 ghz? RAWR! The enemy you know is better than the enemy you don't! |

My E6600 is maxed at 3.5 GHz (I didn't get a good one but not the worst either). I can't get it to run at 3.6 Ghz anymore... Even with proper cooling. I'd have to bump the vcore over 1.5v... So why water cool it and risk leakage. :) |

I head some stuff on the OC forums about something called a "phase change" coolant system. Apparently it uses liquid nitrogen to chill the CPU plate directly. Smart people, when they go water-cooling, isolate their processors via ductwork so that dripping onto other components, (video card, other PCI devices, etc.) cannot be affected. I guess the only real worry is the waterblock. I'm not confident enough in my abilities to run one yet, but someday, I want H2O cooling. It just sounds soooo cool! |

Hey, any ideas anyone on which project gives you the most points per result? I'm running AIDS and Cancer for moral reasons, but I don't mind farming out a little extra to another project for the points. But none of that global warming crap. I'm not entirely convinced yet.

No I don't want a phase change. It'll sound like a hurricane in my house with the noise. Why isolate stuff? Makes it ugly. ![]() |

Blizzie -- I'm not going to ruin it, but I know you are getting the Olympics on a tape delay (for what reason, I don't know). Just watch the swimming tonight! You will not be disappointed!
