WCG doesn't do anything different to normal BOINC in this respect. So, the Windows installer drops everything in the same place.
The WCG changes are very minor: branding, auto-attach, and UD uninstall. That's it. |

That might be useful (at least for us) if the much awaited release 6 had two different messages, one when the CA file is not found and one when its contents are not appropriate.

Added the possibility to the Peer Certificate related Start Here FAQ in anticipation of more using this <data_dir> configuration feature.
----------------------------------------Leaves me the question, which of the files to move? Tried and Tested by eliminating, but if there is a comprehensive list of what to leave in the program dir it would be most appreciated (the time stamps only tell which files are actively modified).

How to set up BOINC with a separate Data directory? Way ahead of you. :-)

Even roadrunner hits the wall at times
---------------------------------------- thanks (edit: Hate wiki's that don't show modification date AND creation date)

It's not a Wiki. ;-)
----------------------------------------But the FAQ is some months old already. I started it in December and ended the preliminary in January. I only just edited it today as I found an error in it yesterday. That one's now fixed. I'll ask Neil if the original creation date can be added, though. Good idea.

By no means am I trying to be pushy here but, are we arriving at a possible root cause of the problem?

Not really. BOINC PE is based on an earlier version of BOINC, and when I checked it, the ca-bundle.crt file appeared to be in the correct place.
Taking this up with the BOINC PE author seems like a good idea. |
