Yes,
I am running a BOINCPE setup. I do not know how to get the information off the computer. After it boots up and runs the batch files to start BOINC, it closes the screen with the information on it. |

I use BOINC manager to monitor it from another computer.
Then you would be able to copy all messages to clip board. Yes, I am running a BOINCPE setup. I do not know how to get the information off the computer. After it boots up and runs the batch files to start BOINC, it closes the screen with the information on it. |

Do you use a separate BOINC Data directory? If so, where did you put ca-bundle.crt ? In the Data directory or in the BOINC directory?

If ca-bundle.crt can't be found, BOINC shows a different error.

Hi Jord, that has always been that 65,000 USD Riddle for me why it's referred to as the BOINC Data directory when in fact we're talking about the directory where BOINC programs are stored. The Data store is the level lower like \projects\wcg\ .... would it be there? The maestro typed quicker and gave the answer.
----------------------------------------[Edit: Have amended Start Here forum FAQ to add the successful test below demonstrating that the ca-bundle.crt possibly needs different placement.]

If ca-bundle.crt can't be found, BOINC shows a different error. Think so? ;-) I have just tested with my Test BOINC directory. I made a separate BOINC Data directory, moved all necessary files to it, but left ca-bundle.crt in my BOINC directory. Edited cc_config.xml so it knew I had a separate data directory. Then I updated WCG: 26-Mar-08 12:18:27|World Community Grid|Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. Requesting 0 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks 26-Mar-08 12:18:28||Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site 26-Mar-08 12:18:30||Access to reference site succeeded - project servers may be temporarily down. 26-Mar-08 12:18:33|World Community Grid|Scheduler request failed: peer certificate cannot be authenticated with known CA certificates When I put ca-bundle.crt in my BOINC Data directory: 26-Mar-08 12:21:30|World Community Grid|Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. Hi Jord, that has always been that 65,000 USD Riddle for me why it's referred to as the BOINC Data directory when in fact we're talking about the directory where BOINC programs are stored. The Data store is the level lower like \projects\wcg\ .... would it be there? If it isn't in the Data directory and WCG is using a separate data directory already (as per BOINC 6 specifications), then you get the error. I just don't know if WCG 5.10.45 uses a separate executable directory and a separate data directory. Does it? Or does it use the same setup as BOINC 5.10.45 does, which throws it all in one main directory still?

It has changed!
I know Rom messed around with the code that finds ca-bundle.crt - looks like it affects the error messages, too. I have to say - this is bad news. It means we have less information about the cause of failures. I knew I should have tested that changeset. |

Glad to be the bringer of bad news... Um.. or not.
---------------------------------------- So back to the questions, does WCG use a separate data directory and if so, where is ca-bundle.crt?
