Good Morning Base Campers
Status Lighthouse joined Trek #28 - Texas - the Trek that refuses to end. Welcome! Op-ed Denmark is one of several countries that are part of the US Visa Waiver program. That means that as a Danish citizen you can visit the USA for 90 days without a visa (provided you don't work; they only want lazy visitors I take it). However, you must apply for an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) authorization. I just did that on behalf of my upstairs neighbor who goes to Houston by the end of July to visit her son who is married to an American. It is a grueling exercise no matter how excellent the instructions are. You enevitably does one wrong thing or another when filling out the application. In this case we were told that the city was wrong. Næstved? That's where we live. What's wrong with that? You try to think. It makes you uncertain. You want to get it right, and you was nervous to begin with. Nobody wants to be refused entry at arrival. Aha! The æ? That's what! Correct the æ into ae. It's accepted. Sigh of relief. What about the rest? OK, no futher problems. You have to pay a fee of US$10 for the application and another US$4 for processing it. Enter Visa info. It might take several minutes to process, it says. And it does. Finally, cheering from both of us as upstairs neighbor has her authorization ready for printing! Culture Music: This morning the Wurlitzer offers real, genuine vinyl music for those old enough, and those younger ones with ears tuned to this kind of music: Brenda Lee: I'm Sorry Paul Anka: Diana Bobby Vee: More Than I Can Say And thusly our romantic addiction should have had its fix for one Saturday ... ![]() Advertisement: Would you like to be part of the Base Camp experience? You can. Please join us now. ![]() |

Thank you very much, GP
----------------------------------------![]() - they are pretty and healthy to look at - nice pots, lots of planting I also like the blue plumbago but have never seen it in my country - maybe I didn't look closely enough What is the difference between "ordinary eggplants" and the Japanese ones? How are they tastewise? Is it a swimming pool you have next to the plants? - and if so: Can the water stay cool as your temperatures are that scorching? You'll get to check it out during the Sofa Tour. Feels cool compared to the 100F temps we had today. Water is actually in the high 80s.
