Good Afternoon Base Campers
Correction The subscriber to our Base Camp playlists is in fact Yukon! from Jekatarinburg, Russia. News None. Cars Picked up my itty-bitty red Suzuki Alto this morning - went to the dealers on foot - 4 miles in one hour - as to enjoy the ride home the better - lots of walking practise from pacing up and down the beach - the quietest place on Mallorca. As cats will, cars can also do: Point to the name they want you to give them. My Suzuki's name is Rosie  Culture Music For no particular reason but for him spending a year with his mistress George Sand on Mallorca, I feel like putting up Frederic Chopin's Nocturne In E Flat Major, Op.9 No.2 Roxette is Yukon! How Do You Do? Italian "Sará perché ti amo" ("Where Are We Going to Sleep Tonight?")was sung a long, long time ago by Danish duo Laban without losing that Italian beat and became "Hvor skal vi sove i nat?" Advertisement No New Campers? What do you want, you lonely Crunchers? ***** Hotels? Whatever happened to rubbing a stick of wood against another to create fire? Please come along and sleep under the stars ... listening to the friendly hyenas!  |

Don Den, what a wonderful selection to start the day with
(and the opportunity of abusing grammar by using a preposition to end a sentence with). Never heard the "Rosie" song, but plan to learn it by heart and sing it to my Rosie ... Much to my relief with all that speeding the little Nash Rambler and the Cadylak drive in the right (correct!) side of the road - he-he, I shall definetely remember asking when appropriate: "Hey Buddy, how can I get this car out of the second gear?" Well, Rosie is a little slow getting off from the curb - what with a 1.0 litre - but once up and running, she's does surprisingly well, actually a very good 100 mph speed with no particular effort or discomfort. Gary Numan is a new aquaintance as well - noticed the "King of synthpop" in the text and remembered seeing yesterday that "Laban" (Where Are We Going to Sleep Tonight?) had a "one and only synth-pop hit" not having a clue of what synthpop was. Coincidences are great. So here is Love inSiberia The Little Deuce Coupe is a lovely song, and I learnt we're talking Hot Rods here ... The Suzuki commercial ain't bad, but Hot Roddin' wouldn't be either, so when I strike it rich, Rosie will have a brother To thank you for your effort of making Rosie feel welcome in this world, Den Quixote, here is one that sprung to mind: Seven Little Girls .... |
