densnaps, that was funny - guess I should have made a survey as to whether those fish were potty trained ....
- also if the temps stay that low, I think I'll switch to those cute woolen swim suits Good Morning Base Campers The peace is over. I'm back. Seems as if PecosRiverM's BBQ still attracts a good deal of Base Campers. densnaps (aka Wishbone when trekking!), dl1000v (whom I should still like to meet and talk to, but haven't found the way. Yet.), pwrguru (sure appreciate you being there with Florida temps, and whom I'm beginning to miss in the Base Camp Forum), rwillis (whose very avatar I do miss to see there. I must be far out), and tgwakko (whom I enjoy see teaching all of us what he knows about weather meteorologically speaking) are still hanging in there on Trek #28 - Texas. As of today inclusive of deltavee's own contributions, the status is: Total run time: Now #2,653 - was #4,048 - advance 1,395 places Points generated: Now #1,769 - was #2,571 - advance 802 places Results returned: Now #1,223 - was #2,071 - advance 804 places. I'm impressed, gentlemen! - and I'm sure deltavee would never even notice if we did away with the "gentlemanly crunching" rule .... As to a badge for this Trek #28 - Texas, it would be nice to have some to choose from so TLD can make his poll manoeuvre. Please come forward with your suggestions - stick men made with rulers if you wish - as long as the Trek name and # is there and the height is 64 pixels. As those of you reading this thread will know, I have been to Karup Air Base and watched the Thunderbirds along with some 20-30 "flyspotters" (aircraft spotters) many with enormous cameras. Tactical Air Command in Denmark writes about the stopover between Italy and Finland by the Thunderbirds: On this occasion and as a thank you for good cooperation with the Danish forces at training as well as international operations the Thunderbirds made a socalled military appreciation show for employees of the Danish Defense and guests from the American Embassy. I think we "common people" had a fairly good view, but we had to pursue the issue quite a bit to get the info ... Admitted, it doesn't look like a lot, but I assure you it's not easy to make a photo like this when you zoom x10, you cannot see the target on your screen because of sun glare, and the target moves at about 1,000 km/h ... ![]() For photos made by the Danish Air Force go to: The Thunderbirds at Karup Air Base on June 15, 2011 Music? What do we need with music when we have the aircraft equivalent of a square nosed Peterbilt dropping supplies over Greenland? C130J Air Drop Here you see him in a low pass over the The Sirius Patrol Base Camp The Sirius Patrol is part of the Danish Defense's Greenland Command, and is probably the World's most remote tour of duty with some of the World's most stunning natural beauty - a tribute to Greenland Still, we do deserve some jet flying and Top Gun music: Stranger Eyes Highway to the Dangerzone Take My Breath Away Wouldn't you like to be part of the Base Camp experience? A member of my family did the Greenland run during WWII. Very different in the old prop jobs!

How did he/she like that, GP?
Good Morning Base Campers Advertising for new campers in the bottom of my posts doesn't work, so now I'll try the top: Wouldn't you like to be part of the Base Camp experience? Please join us now! Trek #28 said goodbye to dl1000v and densnaps today. Thank you very much both of you for participating and contributing. TLD is ready to deal the badge for this Trek. I asked him to hold off a bit, hoping we could have a few more suggestions. Please, do this for mother hen .... please. Only restrictions: - the Trek name and # must be there and the height must be 64 pixels. I heard from alephnull, who wanted to go on this Trek. He asked me to let you all know he was sorry for work tying him up until August 8. As for music: Don't miss the Ford Edsel when Neil Sedaka swings beautifully in Calendar Girl By now you know the lyrics by heart, so we can let Erin McKeown begin right away singing Rhode Island Is Famous for You Thank you for crunching on on Trek #28 pwrguru and rwillis - and thank you for crunching in general to all WCG co-crunchers! ![]() |

Good Morning Base Campers
Advertising for new campers in the top of my posts don't work either, and they will look silly in the middle ... Let me try one more time: Wouldn't you like to be part of the Base Camp experience? Please join us now! rwillis and pwrguru are still hanging in on Trek #28 - Texas. Thank you for your generousity. This will be the last call for submitting badge suggestions for Trek #28 - if you don't come up with any, you'll have to make do with mine - and you'll make TLD sorry, because he doesn't get to put up a poll nor send a mass e-mail You want to make them with the Trek name and # and a height of 64 pixels, please. Don't be shy As for music: Our Base Camp 6 play list is complete in all its horror. For collectors the link is: Base Camp 6 Today's music is meant to attract male as well as female New Campers: Like a Drug - Queens of Stone Age Some claim that this version is better - and it has what I see as a lot of Oregon coast line to look at: Like a Drug - Desert Sessions On the Road Again I wonder if any of you can help me with the title and the singer on this one - think his softspoken way is something I heard before .... - could it be the Hook? |

Good Morning Base Campers
----------------------------------------As was the case yesterday, rwillis and pwrguru are still hanging in there along with little mermaid on Trek #28 - Texas. I hoped to have coaxed Lighthouse into doing some results him being a Texan and - while I was at it - designing a badge ... He didn't bite, but that can still come. However, Lighthouse helped me getting into contact with White Horse aka Ancient Clouds, and I cannot thank him enough for giving me the info that did the trick. I cannot believe it. White Horse who thought long and hard about it and came up with her Crow name for me: biaxaake-taatawe, meaning approximately: Duck-who-wants-to-be-free. Oh, White Horse, you had intuition and a vision, and now I'm free. You also said: "Comfort should not be confused with love." That churned in my head all these years. I wanted love, had some comfort, but don't think I confused the two. I'm so happy for having found you. Thank you once again, Lighthouse! Well, TLD will deal badges to the participants of Trek #28 Texas tonight ... so, you gotta be fast to provoke a poll ... Advertising for new campers in the top of my posts don't work either, and in spite of them looking silly sitting in the middle of everywhere, I'll give it a try: How about becoming part of the Base Camp experience? Please join us now! Funny thing - I'm sure I left yesterday's ad in red. Today it's black! I have tried all the workarounds I can think of, but it stays black! All right! There is more between sky and earth than meets the eye, and I admit it looks more catching in a different color - I would have preferred darkblue tho' Music: I posted that one in "SeriousCrunchers" team thread. Hope you'll like this lesser known Elvis Presley song: The Impossible Dream Enjoy The Savage Rose with Annisette's unique voice and her husband Thomas Koppel's music Evenings Child Doesn't anybody recognize the softspoken voice of the singer on this track? What's the Crow equivalent of "Frustrated Woman Want Persian Tom Cat Crazy 'Bout her"?

I know. And I doubt changing the name will have the desired result. Sigh...
Say hi for me! |

That's it. And I might even get fancy and put a little cherry syrup in the limeade. Just for fun!
