Good Afternoon Base Campers
Thank you to the six (seven inclusive of the team captain) of you still hanging in there on Trek #28. Went swimming in the North Sea for the first time in my life today. It was cold - some 15 degrees Celsius, I guess - but I wouldn't have missed it .....not even for a cold - Beach Boys must be appropriate now - will post pictures of the wide, long beach where you drive your car through the dunes and past the remnants of the German bunkers forming the Danish part of the Atlantic Wall fortresses right down to the water later ... Good Vibrations |

Good tune!
Water here is warm enough to be only slightly cool given the 100F air temps. |

----------------------------------------hey lookie here the gals gotten herself a dinky badge Why, thank you!C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=us3dQ0nnlHY he-he Wishbone, didn't notice for real until today. So I never really understood that the congratulations were to me for getting that badge. Sorry. Guess I didn't look left ... Have wondered for a long time what that would take - but too shy to ask. Thought talk could do the trick, I'm afraid Now, when I'm not concentrating, SekeRob has deservedly tipped me off the #1 poster spot, and he does it with wordy posts. ![]() However, I shall try to get my Hexagame buddies to speed up my post count for regaining that #1 spot when I'm back home. ----------------------------------------Rabbit...... Rabbit...... Rabbit........ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1fOZjiDaw4 Thats " Rockney" Rock and Roll/ Cockney ........... Pop singers seem to like to Adopt a certain accent to give street cred. Sir Michael Philip 'Mick' Jagger, him from the Rolling Stones born and educated in Dartford south London, had a good education and spoke with an acceptable south of England accent, as the band became famous he developed a "Mockney" accent to prove he was one of the "Lads" Thomas Hicks "Tommy Steele" the name Steele he adapted from his Scandinavian Grandfather Thomas Stil-Hicks.....was born in Bermondsy again south London Tommy worked on cargo ships before finding a career in music following a stop over in Norfolk, Virginia. I remember Tommy in the 1950's as the English Rock star Tommy & the Steelmen current with Bill Haley and the Comets . The other person mentioned up there^^^^^ Harry Rodger Webb who was born in India changed his name at the suggestion of his agent To Cliff Richard. "Cliff" good solid image also Rock = rock-an-roll "Richard" After an certain singer from the states little richard ... Cliff still knocking out chart hits and is now Sir Cliff OBE after a long career firstly as lead singer with the Shadows but in later years a solo act The habit of "stars" changing their names sometimes understandable Florence Gumm, Marion Robert Morrison, William Henry Pratt & Archibald Alexander Leach, made a smart change's ![]() ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by densnaps at Jun 17, 2011 7:22:09 AM] |

While the Water in the Lido might be a tad warmer I think sea bathing might be a nicer option ?
