bump

greenies , greenies are highly trained to deal with small scale problems

particullary in the third world

they need help

every time largesse answers to the worlds problems are needed

the right large answer that takes a lot of lateral thinking

runs into small green mindsets that really are not compatible

hence the odd confused largesse enterprise(the dome has only just recovered from that sorta slating)

the mindset of sutch largescale answeres to sum problems like heathrow airport has been sunk in the small scale thinking

c build the airport 15 miles off southhampton

in the middle of the sea

this thread gives me great hope that gordan browns policys regarding debate amongst the public n charities gives us a chance to air ideas previously hidden

and also a set of ground rules to follow

like encourage sutch debates

aha religion

like erm spread the word n every follower(apostle) of christ was foully murdered by the state is disgusting

sum christians mean just that

n other religions use that against christians

so erm forgive agnostics n atheists 4 they are learning to speak under

the threat of legal death

heavvvvvvvvvvvvvyyyyyyyyyyyyy

so erm sticking to the lite is a social skill n is encouraged, these days,

seriously the death penalty is no longer a europeon option, witch means if youve been mentally stitched up youve got the time to reconsider n find out where your views came from

well thats 3 topics that should run 4 ever(ban the death penalty world wide) n the new age of discourse will snap into place.

Re: laughingCan You Save Al Gore?laughing

Hello Fellow Crunchers,

Back to the topic at hand, huh?

I think that the forum posters are really intelligent people and for the most part, open-minded.

Personally, I am not convinced that climate change is the result of human caused emissions of CO2. Long term studies of temperature and CO2 leaves do not show a "causation" relationship between CO2 and global temperature change.

Here is a video series, which presents much of the evidence for my view:

Global Warming Doomsday Called Off - Part 1

There are five parts to this documentary.

However, I am of the belief that nuclear power can both appease the CO2 nutts ( crying ) and provide cleaner air for all of us to breath. Coal definitely spews more dangerous chemicals in the air than CO2. Hopefully, new technology will allow for even more clean coal burning in the future. Coal burning will be with us for at least another 250 years, but it being replaced in large part by nuclear, wind and solar power would be a big plus for humanity.

CO2 nutts crying and more reasonable people are welcome to comment. I'm half kidding about the nutts.

Thanks,
Drew

Hiya halykins

A man after my own heart on the CO2 front biggrin

It's just the Nuclear Option is not an option to be claimed in any sentence with Environmental and Green in it.

The powers that be are using MMGW to crowbar in Nuclear Power Stations across the globe.

Watch this space

Ask anyone in Chernobyl, The Ukraine, Skandinavia and Northern UK how Green the Nuclear Option is.

Dave

Re: laughingCan You Save Al Gore?laughing

Thank you for your comments, David.

Really, I am not sure that Russia should build or operate a nuclear reactor without sufficient international oversight.

My girlfriend is from Russia and she tells me how everything is built and operated at the very minimum of safety. The Russian people do not believe that the government has their safety in mind when operating anything (the Russian sub disaster should come to mind). Hopefully, 1st world countries have a better record on nuclear safety.

I am sure that the US is ready for more nuclear power. I am confident that US regulation is totally over the top with regard to safety. Three mile island was the worst nuclear "disaster" in US history. I'll bet the population received more radiation from eating oranges than the surrounding population received from the radiation released from Three Mile Island. Three Mile Island was way, way over-blown.

Russia is different. They do not care about their people or the population that surrounds them. Chernobyl is an aberration caused by a government indifferent to safety.

I would be a big, HUGE supporter of solar, wind or ocean tide generated electricity, but the technology is not advanced or cheap enough to supply our energy demands. Nuclear is the lesser evil in my opinion.

Thanks again for your comments, David.
