I know these suggestions don't go over very well, but that's never stopped me before, so . . .
----------------------------------------This has come up in other threads so I think it's a worthwhile suggestion. It would be very helpful if we could had a couple of new forums to the "Community" section. Not a lot of them, just a few to help sort out some of the overcrowding in the Chat Room. For example, I think there should definitely be a Games Forum. I know that the games posts will still come up in "recent threads", but you could get around that by just going to the Community forum you wanted to review. Another one that might be good would to dedicate one to ex-Grorg'ers, but since there aren't really that many threads specifically dedicated to us, that wouldn't be a priority. I'm glad people enjoy playing all of the word games that have been transplanted here from Grorg, but if you never participate, trying to sift through them to get to the other threads is a bit tedious. Thank you. ![]() ![]() |

Im sure that there are some out there just waiting for me to show up on this one. Dont worry, I wont let you down. Just finishing my 3rd 'cool down' letter that i will read while screaming at the top of my lungs, then trash. This should allow me to buffer how I feel with the wisdom that will allow anything I have to say regarding this matter, to be heard.

Didn't the forum just expand with a Caring & Sharing area after it was suggested here?? This area *IS* looked at. Don't make it look TOO much like the old grorg or it could go away in 3 days without notice. How about a Courine thread?? ![]() This is the best overall place if you think that the forum needs something. We may not see things in random chat threads. In the meantime, that's the place to try things out. They can be split out if there's enough popularity or confusion. Put things here if you think they are reasonable requests to ask for. Do you think you're going to wait for months and months and months like that other place you are trying to simulate? If a yea or nay isn't posted soon, an advisor can always help out with a for the admin.

Thank you. I agree - a separate 'Games' section would ease the congestion in the Chat room. These forums were never really designed for the amount of chat we see now, they were really set up for project information, tech help and Team recruitment - team chat, games etc etc have generally been done on teams own or other forums - however if the demand is there and the forums can take it without being detrimental to the main reason we are here, then I don't see why these changes shouldn't be made. Like Scribe I would like to see any new Games section removed from the Recent Posts list so we can get to the important stuff here. Another one that might be good would to dedicate one to ex-Grorg'ers, but since there aren't really that many threads specifically dedicated to us, that wouldn't be a priority. This however I don't agree with - this is WCG not Grid.org - over the years people have come from many projects that have closed (FAD etc), and although its sad when these things happpen, we just have to move on - I would like to see us ALL pull together as one here for the good of WCG and the projects, I would not like to see a section created where the majority here would effectively be excluded. I'm sure someone here is more than creative enough to produce a separate 'Grid.org Re-union' style forum elsewhere to meet and reminisce if that is desired, and it would also be able to include those who have gone to other projects other than here as well. |

You are so much more "gentil" as the locals say here Ady. Lets face it, the GridOrg is dead, DAID, kaput, finis, over and done with. This is the WCG not Grid.Org. If you need to lament the fact, then do it on your own. Why do we need to hear the rehash of what hapened at GridOrg. I used to be there as did many and we left a long time ago. Get over it and lets reduce the signal to noise ratio. |
