Brawn GP’s Rubens Barrichello has been handed a penalty by the Sepang race stewards after his car needed a new gearbox following Friday practice for this weekend’s Malaysian Grand Prix. Barrichello will drop five places on the grid as a result of the change.
The Brazilian covered 22 laps in the morning to finish fourth and completed a further 37 laps on his way to sixth in the timesheets in the afternoon, without suffering any noticeable problems in his BG001. This season the regulations state that gearboxes must last four race weekends .... |

Caught up with qualifying on the Internet with the help of BBC. It's very interesting at the front and how unusual for Ferrari to make such a boo boo to leave Massa in the wilderness.

I asked for some rain, not a complete monsoon.
That was a nice half GP, but with a dissatisfying end. ![]() Up to China with hopefully the start of the end of the diffuser-soap. ![]() |

But, as the guys said, it always rains at this time in the late afternoon. So we softies in Europe have to accept that television is not just scheduled for our convenience and the best requirements for racing ought to come first.
The one good thing about it so far is that it is no longer Ferrari and McLaren fighting it out with just peripheral interest in the rest of the field. It's a brave man indeed that would like to forecast how this season will end. Ferrari with no points after two races! When did that last happen? |

Apparently early in the ninties.
They tried to outsmart the diffuser-club with Kimi but sending him out on full wets so early was too much of a gamble. There's nothing wrong with opportunistic thinking but they better had chosen for intermidiates. Which is of course easy talk with knowing the outcome. Anyway, if that diffuser turns out legal I'm pretty sure that the big teams in no time will have it on their cars as well and then the season can really start. ![]() |
