Re: Un-official Grid.org Refugee Transition Center.

Refugee transition centre, fitted out with all the mod -cons smile

I think it was the loud twang that that attracted me here.

I did have a question (which I probably posted in the wrong forum <embarrassed face here> ) before I make this a permanent home, but it is nice to see so many old and new faces here.

Better get back to work now though!

Re: Un-official Grid.org Refugee Transition Center.

Has anyone heard from JP yet? We were supposed to be meeting here. The last-minute-hangers-on (that includes me) want to know if his contacts at Oxford are still in contact.
I think that Dr. Graham Richards is on Holiday.

Great. A "holiday" is an European euphemism for "3 months out of the office and away on another continent".

Re: Un-official Grid.org Refugee Transition Center.

The first project choices you see in "My Grid" are for BOINC, and there's also a checkbox/tickbox to get other stuff if your choices run out.

For the UD version, you must go deep into your device manager to find them.

That could be a point of confusion for anyone running the UD.EXE version over here.

Don't expect the grid.org UD.EXE version to work. It's SLIGHTLY different, but looks the same on the outside. Install the WCG version.

Otherwise, go with BOINC like the rest of us.

Re: Un-official Grid.org Refugee Transition Center.

:::::BULLETIN::::

12:12pm CDT, Austin Texas

The grid.org forum is now GONE. There's now a completion of mission page and instructions on how to uninstall the grid.org agent.

One of the moderators asked whether the forum could be kept around, even if we couldn't post in it. There was a lot of Q & A reference in there.

So much for corporate fun. It's over. Welcome to worldcommunitygrid. laughing

sad Re: Un-official Grid.org Refugee Transition Center.

yes, its over crying

Hopefully now, the rest will come from the contact made in the last 24 hrs. Time was very short to do a task that is planed would have taken twice as long. It is this solidarity that was special about the grid.org's forum that made the task even possible.

The ground work has been laid that would point the way here. We can only hope the top grid teams come to WCG. And not scatter to the wind.
