MCM is flowing well, but it has been over 24 hours since I've gotten an ARP.

ARP is flowing or rather trickling. See Work Available. I have 7.

I've had an unlucky day. I've gotten a good flow of MCM, but no ARPs. I'll hope for a bigger flow and better luck tomorrow. I'm glad some of you won the ARP lottery. Hopefully soon we will hear more about a MAM beta too. It would be fun to get a new badge.

I see we are back to having a validation backlog for MCM1; at the time of posting this, I have 880 MCM1 tasks Pending Validation, and just over 25% of them have a wingman that is also Pending Validation.
There are a lot of missed deadlines as well, and "tasks are committed to other platforms" is showing up quite often for MCM1 at present as retries manage to get sent out. As for ARP1... I've got a handful of results in PVal jail there as well. I can't see a pattern regarding WU numbers there (unlike the [usual] MCM1 case...) Also, it's looking more and more as if we've hit one of those points where there has to be some in-depth data housekeeping before more work can be issued (or the work generator has crashed, but I reckon that would've got fixed if so). Also, it appears that the mid-day trio of stats files wasn't generated on 2025-02-20, despite there being results returned; it'll be interesting to see what happens when today's files should be generated. Considering the above, I'm inclined to agree with Unixchick in re MAM beta -- some good news is needed :-) Cheers - Al. |

There was a big jump in runtime etc yesterday for MCM1. I wonder if the validation backlog has been cleared.

I'm getting a good supply of ARP and MCM.

I want to thank Mike for his Sunday ARP update - https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=701874
I agree with his assessment that the number of WUs in the pool is decreasing. Could the team throw a few more WUs into the mix please ? |

I wonder if there is some sort of problem with work distribution: some workunit-IDs are missing.
When I look at my latest downloaded ARP1-task with ID 670832578: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/contribution/workunit/670832578 ARP1_0017671_141_0 Linux Fedora Pending Validation 2025-02-23T22:57:28 2025-02-24T09:38:06 This was more than 12 hours ago. When I look at 20 workunit-IDs before that last one, 670832578, a number of them aren't available; normally, workunit-IDs are consecutive and none are missing. At this moment (while typing this, 15 hours later) available in the range 670832558 - 670832577 are: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/contribution/workunit/670832577 Also, there is a pattern: each fourth ID is missing. Looking back further, this pattern keeps popping up: each ID divisible by 4 is missing (ending in 56, 52, 48, 44, 40. 36, 32, 28, 24, 20). Adri |

Wow Adri ! That is interesting.
I really wish we could get an update. we know they were having some hardware issues (noted in the MAM update), but we have no idea what is going on. We can see the slower pace of ARP and the up and down nature of the MCM output, but no real understanding of why. Actual missing WU numbers is puzzling. I can't figure out a cause for that one. |
