Upon further reflection, I cannot give up on this project as it has been my only project since 2007. However, being Captain of the team will end today. Because no one has indicated that they want to take the position of Captain I will pick an idle team member. The project will not let me resign.

I recently added 2 new computers, one to replace an i7-2600 and one to replace an old AMD. The new computers are an i5-12400 and an i7-13700KF. I will run other projects, as many as necessary to keep 5-6 computers busy. I recently added 2 new computers, one to replace an i7-2600 and one to replace an old AMD. The new computers are an i5-12400 and an i7-13700KF. Yes, it is frustrating that Krembil has had such a run of bad luck, with some factors out of their control. I have kept some of my systems busy with TN-Grid and Denis@home. They both periodically run out of work units, but after a couple of days they have more. My preference would be that WCG get up and running and stay that way, but I don't get everything I want. I really do want to concentrate on the MCM and SCC projects. I try to stay positive. Cheers

Because of the problems at WCG, I have added an additional project to ensure that all PCs have work to do.
----------------------------------------All 5 of my PCs are old and will not upgrade to Windows 11. Retired an i7-2600, which won't boot (I am working on it). Added 2 new PCs to run Windows 11. Two PCs have NVIDIA GPUs that run on both projects. My PCs have a combined thread count of 56; that should be enough for my lifetime. I run my PCs 24/7/365 and the power bills are getting out of hand. The power company had a rate increase of $1.8B approved. I am retired and on Social Security. I have no way to pass on increased costs. For that reason I am leaving WCG after 16 years of crunching. I hate to leave as I was hoping they would find a cure for cancer, but there has been no breakthrough and additional costs make this too costly to continue. Best of luck to the team and WCG. I will quit BOINC when each PC has processed all of the work they presently have waiting.

I am back. I don't care about power bills, power companies, or rate hikes. I have retired my i7-2700K (I built it) and purchased a new i7 and i9. My wife has a new i5. The three PC's are on WCG and are processing work units when they are available. Did you miss me?
