How does it look smile laughing smile laughing smile laughing

Great design, as always -- Graham, you're the best!!! applause applause applause

David really should buy some extra so he has something handy to wipe away
his tears... See how he's fighting to stay on that 28th place, even adding
machines!! So although it's really nasty (I should be ashamed angel ) the
bantering of our captain works for public (WCG) interest.

Go David!! GO, I'M COMING FOR YOU!!!!

Best, Stefan (away to add another machine tongue ).

Hi gang!

I know I've not posted for a age but I've been offline for the last month nearly! Its totally killing me and my crunching my systems sat at home just wanting some way to talk to the WCG server!

The new house I've moved into had never been lived in and a nice man from BT installed a line yesterday so I'm dialing up now :0) *cheers!*

Week for broadband then I'm back ready to rock! I'm having serious crunching withdrawals! the good news is like dave I'm investing in another machine! No way am I gonna get over taken by the captain!

Anyone know how well the A64X2 dual core chip performs with with WCG? was thinking if I'm doing anything else than cruching as in moving the pointer or playing solitare will that keep me on the stright and narrow as far no loss of crunching performance! As I'm on serious catch up!

Dropped above my age now so I have something to fight for!

On a lighter note just wanna say how well everyone is doing cant believe where not even in the top 20 as far as numbers of members and where pushing out the second biggest amount of points! Very impressive everyone! Keep up the fantasic work!

Re: The MOT Brutus Club

Welcome back to crunching Jonathon! It has to have been pretty frustrating to be offline for so long. I think I would be a candidate for a mental ward if that happened to me (assuming I am not already ready for the mental ward -- LOL). I wish you the best in your new home.

Your friend and team mate,

Neat thing about stats.free-dc page is you can easily see how many points Dave is generating. So you can make sure he can't slip another machine or two on to the problem and have him forget to mention it ... laughing

Maybe there should be a Dave thwack date prediction as well wink

Keep an eye on his many female family members -- he's building up a small
army of poor children which he can then switch to his ID -- once we stop
to watch his stats. "Revenge of the Autumns family".

Maybe there should be a Dave thwack date prediction as well wink

This could speed up "The Hunt" -- oh how nasty we are... I guess Graham
already works on the "Welcome to the TDP-club". (T-hree D-igit P-osition)
Wuhhhhahahhahhahah! biggrin

David, it would be so easy -- in your job you're the person responsible for
the regular update of hundreds of PCs, aren't you??? I wonder if a single of
them would notice the client running as a service -- no icon in the system
tray...

Best, Stefan.

Re: The MOT Brutus Club

Hi Stefan

My frustration on this score is immense. Even in my test bed I have at the moment 7 IBM PC's running 2.8Ghz Intels and I have 8 HP servers with 2.8Ghz Xeons and 4 miscellaneous servers running alsorts.

and then there's the laptop I write this on.

If the company I work for found the WCG agent even on this test bed I'd be out on my ear.

There's no way to load any app on any laptop within this workplace. We don't have CD Drives on our laptops and not even a floppy drive and you can't download .exe files from the net. ActiveX is banned as is Javascript on webpages

The noise of the servers in production is deafening we have rack after rack of them - probably over 300 of them and a few mainframes from a certain mainframe manufacturer you might know and then there are the ~4000 laptop/desktops all IBM

To be honest it's a miracle I can even post on this forum

I'm sure Big Brother is probably watching every key press wink

IBM need to have a quiet word about the Grid to their big corporate customers. It would be a great advert for the company (see how it works for EasyMobile) and good PR on a companies "Ethical Policy"

If they are reading this as I type I hope I might embarrass them into contributing.

Meanwhile it's down to us little guys

I had thought about recruiting the kids PC's onto my account wink but the team's stats would suffer as they wouldn't switch them on so early in the morning without getting their points. Plus I'd never hear the end of it.

I knew being able to see who had done what would cause trouble. That's why I've been sitting on the info that I have in an SQL database that Aldeb created a java app to populate daily with every detail available from the WCG stats pages.

Anyway like Jonathon says we're 22nd in number but producing second on points.

Once you've got the crunching bug there's no hope for you but it's great for what we are trying to achieve here at the WCG.

That supercomputer just gets more powerful every day

Gooooo folks keep 'em crunching
Regards
Dave nerd
