Thanks Dave, this REALLY sounds fantastic and I will surely try it!!! I did similar cabbage recipes with raw cabbage (brown part of the cabbage as well, use less sugar, more water and give it 1.5-2 hours) which is rather typical for Germany (at least in the South - Bavaria) but I'm eager to try the Sauerkraut for this. I love cabbage!! Will get back to you!!! Best, Stefan. Hi Stefan -- I thought the recipe might be of interest to you. I agree that it is quite a bit of sugar. I think I increased the amount that was called for in the recipe I based this one on. It is also quite a large batch. This is because the first time I made it I was going to what we call a "Pot-Luck" dinner (everyone makes something for the dinner and brings it). That time, I boiled about a dozen bratwursts and then sliced them into bite sized pieces which I then mixed into the already made sauerkraut so that it was really a sauerkraut and bratwurst dish. Now I always cook my bratwurst by boiling and then put them on the grill and serve them in bread with onions and good brown mustard (it is hard to find mustard as good as I found in Germany here, but some have gotten very close in recent years). I named the recipe "Dave's Welt berühmt Sauerkraut" because several of my friends from Germany have liked it and took the recipe home with them. Perhaps with the readership of these forums, it may now be truly "Welt berühmt" and will be served on all continents in the world! ![]() Your friend and team mate, |

I agree that it is quite a bit of sugar. That's no problem, I really like hearty meals with sweet things added. Examples: - add some sugar and a good handful (or two) of raisins to a goulash (add them 30 minutes before the goulash is ready). This is fantastic if you use lamb or sheep as meat (I like fat meat) - use the flesh of a ripe mango (I used fresh mango but I bet it's also good with canned mango) and put it into a blender with 3-4 table spoons of honey and 1/4 litre of clear meat broth (or clear chicken bouillon). One teaspoon of broth powder and 1/4 litre of hot water, that is. Blend thoroughly and put it into a high rim oven pan (don't know how these are called in English). Put a duck of 2.5 kg into this gravy, put only 2 large red onions into the duck, no need to sew it up like with usual filling. 210 degrees Celsius for 1.5-2 hours (pour some gravy over the bird now and then) and you have some poem of a meal... Best, Stefan. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Aug 8, 2005 3:21:25 PM] |

Hi Peter,
Let us just make sure that we have a clear understanding of the problem before we start looking at resolving it. Do I understand you correctly when you say that: My current work unit requires a Pentium 4 1.5GHz processor. - is this is your processor reading for the comparison deviceand that, I have a Pentium 4 2.9GHz processor, yet is only worth 3 taking my overall total for this unit to 77. that these are readings from the agent display under the titles: Device Information Overall Perfermance? |
