Getting kind of tired maintaining 3 System’s. If I’m right on AMD hyperthread, it’s more efficient than intel but will have to check again. Would like to find someone with a dual setup on these chips to see what frequency they are at when running around 98% threads. They are at least on par with Intel now in terms of performance per watt. It always depends slightly on specific workload as well though. The only way to know for sure is to try it out as there are so many variables, unless you can find anyone here crunching with Epyc that can provide some results. Here's a review I found with various benchmarks. In short, they are very powerful chips but also quite power hungry. https://www.servethehome.com/dual-amd-epyc-76...rmance-and-review-part-1/ charter did something nice to me, they upgraded my Internet. I had 60 down and 5 up, now I have 100 down and 10 up. the upgrade was free Congrats. Don't even know what I have, as long as I can stream HD video and upload my wu, I'm happy :) [Edit 2 times, last edit by FlynRyan at Mar 11, 2018 7:29:47 PM] |

Quiet around here lately. Getting nicer out by the day. Hope everyone's doing well. The nicer it gets the more time I spend outside. There is a lot of remedial yardwork and other outside activities which need doing as the snow gradually melts away, although we may get 3 to 5 inches(7.5cm to 12.5cm) sometime tonight and Saturday. And just as my driveway is finally drying out. Cheers

We escaped the storm. Albert Lee got hit good though. Think it was 13 inches. Have had enough of winter. Time for spring to come in. But looks like another cool week ahead.

We escaped the storm. Albert Lee got hit good though. Think it was 13 inches. Have had enough of winter. Time for spring to come in. But looks like another cool week ahead. Maybe we will get sun and 50F(10C) starting in April. I am glad we did not get the heavy wet snow they had forecast. My driveway is almost completely dry now, so I hope we get a few more warm days to complete the process. When the frost goes out it just turns to mush. Every couple of years I get a couple yards of class 2 gravel, but it seems the driveway just eats that in the spring. Right now it is close to 40F(4C) but the wind feels cold even though the sun is attempting to peek out. Cheers

Looks like you folks up north have more coming. Old man winter doesn't want to go away just yet.
