Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Decisions, decisions. I will hit 1 year in CFSW with this evening's update. I have a shot at 2 years, since I can do 14-16 days crunching per calendar day, but it's just as likely that I'll just miss. Do I take a chance and keep going full speed ahead(once CFSW WUs are available again) or do I stop now and leave the WUs to other badge hunters?

Go for it. You can not be sure others are thinking like you and may switch too. The very least you gave it your best shot.

I say go for also. You'll never be satisfied if you don't try.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I'm glad your going for it.
I'm at 1:246:11:39:03 as of this morning.
One of my PCs dried up with the errors but my other 3 have 3 or 4 days of cache left of good work units. whistling
So when I hit blue I will dump all remaining work units for others who are trying for blue. I sugguest upping cache as high as you can once they start flowing again. wink

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Finally home. Talk about heat in Nebraska. At least the humidity was low. Low to high 90's except 1 day. Farmers there are in trouble though. Bad drout. Was in ainsworth. Folks selling their cattle due to shortage of grain. Crops are pretty much toast. Very sad to see. You can see a big difference coming into Minnesota. Green! Little brown spots in SW Minnesota. Looks like I brought the heat with me. Forecast shows hot weather coming in.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Bearcat, glad you're safely home. A lot of Iowa is in the same condition as Nebraska. I'm glad MN is green. I had to look at a map to find out where Ainsworth is. Having lived in Omaha for a year, I'm fairly familiar with the Nebraska towns along I-80 but not with those farther north or south.

We finally got a long, soaking rain yesterday. The grass is starting to green up nicely. But it's way too late for the corn and soybeans around here.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I turn 50 this spring. Not looking forward to Dr. Roto-Rooter.

Looks like I'm going to make it, CSW 1:159:06:48:00 as of tonight.

@Little Mermaid
That picture of the coffee/espresso looks absolutely delicious.

Procedure is definitely worth going through even though it stinks to go through it. Just wish they would invent something better to drink to clean you out.
Looks like you should hit 2 yrs. It will be close though. I crunched 5 yrs worth when the project came out. wink

The first, and last, time I had it done, I didn't have to drink anything -- just watch what I eat and take some pills to clean me out. Afterwards, we went to Denny's to get something to eat and I barfed all over the plate. At least I know what not to do the next time. I was told to get it done again in 5 years so I will have to go in any time now.

I think putting more work in the cache would have been a mistake for the last problem we had. On two of my machines, I ran out of work until today. I had to go to the projects tab to do an Update to get more work.
