Yeah, really sucks. But lucky enough to have an identical board in my other cruncher that I'm debating on transplanting. That one has only one processor in use now so figure take a day to swap out. Just have to deal with the re register crap from Microsoft. Should have left things alone but core 10 was reading 10-15 degrees hotter than the rest. Figured I reapply thermal paste but saw a bent pin, flaps when moved. Tried reinstalling but wouldn't even post. My guess it wasn't making contact inside the socket. Makes crunching interesting.

Happy to hear that worked out for you. Supermicro's are premium boards.

Well, I'm back on these boards again after leaving my machines in "set and forget" mode for a couple of weeks while my husband was in the hospital for bypass surgery. He's been home for a week now and is doing well -- still weak and tired but improving daily. I felt good knowing that while he was benefitting from medical science, my computers at home were making their little contribution.
