Re: Minnesota Crunchers

New Radeon and openCL drivers out today.

My son's runs FurMark at 72C fine for an hour with no problem. As soon as I started crunching on the CPU only, with FurMark still running, minutes later it rebooted, no warning or blue screen. It has to be bad power or more likely too small of a power supply.

Still out with the flu. The worst is the body aches. It's been a while since I've had the flu. And yes, I got my shot this year. tired

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I gave up on the shots. Still got the flu after getting one. It's a crap shoot figuring out which strain is going to hit everyone.
I'll have to look at the drivers. Mine was doing fine until I upload/downloaded this morning then bam, restart. No BSOD. When I finish with what's in the queue, 3 days worth, will boot back into ubuntu and crunch both GPU and CPU to see how that goes.

There's your problem. You only had one shot. Johnny Walker might recommend 2 or 3 shots while Old Mr. Boston might be partial to some Wild Turkey fixins. biggrin

Hope you and the family feel better soon.

Cheers

Are there any clues in the Windows Event Log? If not, it's almost certainly a hardware issue. You might have Windows configured to auto-restart on BSOD, in which case it doesn't show the BSOD, but you should still see something in the Event Log.

Just looked, looks mighty close. I just need a few SB rigs to replace my harpertown rigs and should be able to push above 1 year. From what I am reading from xtremesystems, without over clocking, folks are getting around 34000 ppd. My 8 core 2.5 harpertown on a 667 FSB is averaging around 25000 ppd. If I could find another e5472, w/800 FSB motherboard It's on, should be able to get around 30000 ppd. Probably going to wait for the next series coming from intel, the xeon equivalent. Those look to chew up engery though.
