Congrats on becoming Advanced 7cures applause

Only (he says) 2 years short! Movieman I'd love to see 4 WU's being crunched at the same time. Sek that should be easily do-able next week after the sleepy new year.

Come on folks

Let's crunch peace

Aw that's just not right Movieman

I can only muster 6 WU's myself and only 10 in the whole house out of 2 Laptops, 3PC's 2 dedicated Crunchers and 1 Win2K3 server and another Co-lo server.

8 from one box shock you won't mind if I shed a little tear crying

one day one day d oh

I've got 22 running at a time usually. 18 right now..DX2400 system on loan to the D2OL team for the month and that 8 core is meshmesh's..
A monster..I'm hosting it but the comitment to it is all his.
He's the brains, I'm just the mechanic that built it.

Is it running some awesome database engine?
A box like that surely isn't built just to crunch thinking

Anyway I discovered this through stumbleupon

http://www.thesongoftheday.com/index.cgi?_d=010807

Enjoy

It's a web head anthem

David:
As hard as it might be to beleive this was built JUST to crunch WCG.
God's truth on that. We're still working to see what it will max out at stable but I think somewhere between 3270-3420 is what we'll wind up with.
And there are 2 of them here except that one has only one Clovertown in it..They are hard to come by at any price I'd pay..$1500.00 retail each for the cpu's.
To put this box in perspective, last night I inched it up to 3270mhz and ran cinebench 9.5, the multicpu rendering test on it.
Scored a 2545..The only score higher that I can find on the net was done by a 8cpu-16 core Opty 880 and he got 2646..
That test is all cpu power and to compare, one of the guys at XS ran a quad core Kentsfield at almost 5000mhz on LN2 and got 2526.. biggrin

Movieman you couldn't get a copy of the messages created by the CPU Benchmarks in BOINC could you?

Just for comparison with a Core 2 Duo and some old Barton's blushing

I'm building something that might be requiring that kind of number crunching power so you never know I might get there one day

but for the moment it would be nice to dream

Dave
