That's unfortunate -- mostly for WCG and humanity -- but that's not your fault, and we appreciate all that you've done. But I'd rather hear that we lost 8 computers because they're being shut down than that they are still running but are no longer crunching.

We should be able to pass 'IBM NL Grid team' in one week ... or maybe even in just six more days; it is a close call. Our team has completed over 65 years worth of crunching now. Excellent job, everyone. Looks like we made it to #68 last night! Brink , Sorry to hear you are loosing systems. Your contributions have been quite significant to say the least! Welcome to jones948 the newest member of the HomeBreweres team. Dave |

Hello everyone, including our visitors who we haven't heard from in awhile. It's always nice when others drop by.
We are still progressing, making it to #68, but the teams ahead of us have a good lead and/or are generating a lot of daily points, so it will take us a longer and longer time to advance, eventually stalling when we reach our highest capability. For example, today we ranked 39th in points generated in one day; if that is typical and remains constant, then in the long run our maximum capability is 39th place -- which is exceptional, of course. But at our present rate, it could take us a year or longer to reach that, during which time we could be passed by other teams catching up from behind. But it would be fantastic if we could actually make it past 50 ... even if only for a little while. What a tremendous accomplishment that would be. Who would have ever thought that we could do this? Thank you again, everyone, and please keep up the good work. Cheers. |

Based on performances in the past week, I'd guesstimate that it will take our team about 11 more days to advance to #67 by overtaking Team Norway ... unless someone sneaks up on us from behind; I haven't really looked in the rear view mirror in awhile.

Rob,
----------------------------------------As I recall you are running mostly Linux machines. Have you upgraded to BOINC 5.8.11 yet? See this thread: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=11970 Might help your output a bit. Dave |
