Well, there's your problem right there!
Reinstall BOINC, and make sure you use the official, stable version. Download it directly from Berkeley. |

???
Try Google. Here is the first thing I found for ca-bundle.crt : http://www.eklhad.net/linux/app/ssl-certs One of the articles Google finds might help you. Lawrence |

smartpillie,
----------------------------------------The Lawrence writing "???" suggests, that the "ca-bundle.crt" is maybe not part of the BOINC package u have obtained. Didactylos said to get an official install package, but who knows did Berkeley omit. Internally the file he points to says its a public certificate......something u need to obtain from a place u can google to and put into the BOINC dir! BTW, my BOINC directory has got the "ca-bundle.crt" file in it, so that's the key to fix! so many things lost in translation, but u need to use the grey cells a little bit since linux is no childs stuff (personal opinion) ;>) ciao ![]()

I do not have the ca-bundle.crt on any of my Linux machines either. I installed from the official 5.4.9 release directly from Berkeley. I have never seen smartpillie's error here. My Linux machines attached with no problems and they crunch just fine.

Okay, my apologies.
The 5.4.9 version doesn't include the certificate bundle. This is because that version of BOINC accepts self-signed certificates, so it doesn't need to validate the entire certificate chain for genuine certificates. Later builds (not released yet) don't accept self-signed certificates. The certificate bundle was omitted from some of these builds by accident, so genuine certificates couldn't be validated. Installing one of those alpha builds may cause the error we are seeing here. Since wget is giving a certificate error, it is possible that you have some additional layer of security that prevents you from validating the certificate chain correctly. Possibly something is misconfigured somewhere. I suggest you try installing the latest alpha build, which does include the certificate bundle. Download it using this link. Let us know what happens. |

These are exactly the versions I used. Nevertheless I haver reinstalled it and the error is the same.
@Sekerob: I have never read before, that you have to download this file, to run WCG-projects with BOINC. My assumption is, that this error has something to do with the eplus-router, because I am using UMTS. |

Which version?! Have you tried 5.5.16?
Your router should really not affect this at all, unless it is misconfigured. |

Smartpillie, i was just stating what Lawrence Hardin's mail suggested (my interpretation) and Didactylos confirming. If u don't want to take to advise, feel free by reinstalling as often as u like, but if your Linux did not come with it, and your particular BOINC distro does not come with it, then 2+2 needs to be applied.
----------------------------------------PS 5.6.0 is just out....u may go and get it or blow it in the wind, BUT u do need a certificate in a place that BOINC can find it! ciao
