I am fluent in German, but doubt Kevin is......Verification error with Signed Certificate. Doubt WCG will follow the recommendation to allow an unsigned certificate link....not sure but BOINC was specially adapted to that IBM requirement.

What version of the BOINC agent are you using? The 5.4.X series of BOINC clients accepted self signed certificates. The 5.5.X (beta) and up series of BOINC clients will only accept properly signed certificates (a few of the early versions of the 5.5.x clients did not include the ca-bundle.crt and thus didn't recognize properly signed certificates - however the most recent version do).
Our certificate is signed by Entrust http://www.entrust.net/ and it is a valid certificate that should be accepted as trusted. |

He said 5.4.11, so that idea won't fly.

I use the 5.4.11 version for Windows and the 5.4.9 for Linux.
The errormessage contains, that the url http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org contains no BOINC-Information. |

Is it just WCG that you can't attach to?

This is what smartpillie posted...quote:
----------------------------------------I have the newest version of BOINC. If I want to attach the project with the GUI the same error occurs. Other project sources are working. On windows I have the same problem with the general BOINC-Software, with the WCG-Version it works.

smartpillie,
I'm curious about the wget you ran. I get the following: wget https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org --17:18:31-- https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ => `index.html' Resolving secure.worldcommunitygrid.org... done. Connecting to secure.worldcommunitygrid.org[129.33.89.133]:443... connected. HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 OK Length: unspecified [text/html] [ <=> ] 39,484 208.42K/s 17:18:32 (208.42 KB/s) - `index.html' saved [39484] So I am wondering why you are unable to read our certificate. Anyone out there have ideas? |

Maybe there is a package missing? openssl is installed.

Check for the file ca-bundle.crt - it should be in the boinc folder. Check that it is not corrupt. You may want to delete the file and reinstall BOINC.
This file has been omitted from some of the alpha builds of BOINC, so make sure you are using an official, stable release from Berkeley. |
