Re: My Orange Mobile Phone

I just hope all this (us venting) is at least help our blood pressure.
If it doesn't, I can give you a warning about that. About every blood pressure pill out there causes impotence. It's a dirty secret that they don't like to talk about on their websites. Some like Altace also take away desire, and even Viagra does nothing for desire. I am not going to take medicines because of medicine. About every statin for cholesterol causes impotence. Propanerol/inderol causes impotence. Zetia causes impotence. After asking me to take all of those at once I changed doctors for a reason that should now be obvious. The new doctor and I are ramping down the meds and the blood pressure is even lower. Getting rid of salt also helped that a lot. I'm not yet sure how I'll get my iodine, which is added to NaCl in trace amounts.

Re: My Orange Mobile Phone

This is like those Broadband Help lines

mine went off air the other day so you ring up its dial 1 for customer support 2 for technical support 3 for a pizza

After pressing 2 you get

You are at queue position 5 (Ah that's not too bad only 4 people in front of me and loads of people waiting to take my call it's only going to be a minute or 2)

And they wonder why when they answer you are not best pleased

Listen up Broadband companies do you ever try out your own "Customer Experience"

You are at queue position 5 biggrin
These "customer assistance buttons" were on the list of the 10 worst inventions of all time. The reviewer was afraid that he would invent something else. They don't work on my dial phone either. laughing My new doctor has one that has no "escape". I asked him if he had enough patients. I said that he would have even more if his appointment line would allow it to talk to dial phones if they remained on the line. I think HIS blood pressure went up at about that point.

Re: My Orange Mobile Phone

Hello retsof. I found some alternate sources for Iodine:

'Seafood is naturally rich in iodine. Cod, sea bass, haddock, and perch are good sources. Kelp is the most common vegetable seafood that is a rich source of iodine. Dairy products also contain iodine. Other good sources are plants grown in iodine-rich soil.' from MedlinePlus Medical Encyclopedia.

Re: My Orange Mobile Phone

I rather prefer the taste of a glass of milk to a glass of kelp, so I think I'll go with that.

Thanx. I'll throw a fish into the stewpot now and then.

Re: My Orange Mobile Phone

OK it's upgrade time again and I'd set my hopes on a Orange M700 so I can do a bit of Wireless VOIP testing so the £50 upgrade fee is for me anyway a price worth paying.

I rang them yesterday and they said if I go down the Orange shop and pay my bill if one is in stock I can pick it from there. Great just the job.

(just building the suspense......)

Any way I pay my £45 bill in cash in the Orange shop (not the phones for you or Carphone Warehouse the lovely Orange Branded Orange shop just need to make this point as it is important)

and ask for the phone to be upgraded. There's my lovely shiney new M700 in it's box.

That will be £50 for the upgrade and £49.99 for the phone Sir.

I explain

Sorry that's the price for your upgrade.

Can you ring your Upgrade line they will explain.

Nothing doing M700 still in the Orange Shop.

I ring the Upgrade Helpline. It is just £50 all I need to do is pay the bill.

I have paid the bill in the Orange Shop

Ah yes Sir but that won't appear on our Computers for another 48 hours.

(How are the Computers in the Orange Shop not the Orange Computers)

I explain how in an Internet Connected world these things are for all intents and purposes Instantaneous.

Could you ring the Orange shop and explain

Sorry Sir we are not Orange retail

So your Orange and it's an Orange shop and I can save you the expense of delivery. I came into Town especially to pick up phone as you said I could yesterday when I called.

I'm sorry Sir you didn't speak to me yesterday.

No your colleague.

Could you phone the Orange Shop?

No

Could you send me out an Upgrade?

No not until your cash payment shows on our computers which can take up to 48 hours

Is there anything else I can do for you Sir

Yes you can ring the Orange Shop I have just paid my cash in to so I can pick up my phone

I'm sorry Sir you are not understanding.

He was right I am not understanding where the huge disconnect is in a company specialising in communications.

Everything in this thread is true not a word of a lie

Why can't it just be as easy as they told me it would be?

Tuesday at the earliest and there was one ready in the box in front of me this afternoon in the Orange Shop

???????

Re: My Orange Mobile Phone

Can't you just buy a "new" phone without an "upgrade"?

Pretend that you are a new customer, or explain that you would rather be a new customer somewhere else. That usually gets their attention.
