Re: 24 hours and 0% completion?

Hello Alvaro Araujo,
Report it on http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=7868 to help with debugging and then terminate it.

Re: 24 hours and 0% completion?

I just had the time to check on my results status and to my dismay I also see numerous "invalids" on various machines that were crunching HPF2. crying

I hope the techs are successful in fixing the bugs that are obviously present.

Re: 24 hours and 0% completion?

My Computer stops automatically, even though the program is set to run at all time. In the progress indication area, the word "agent paused, see www.wcgrid.org/cause.html" keeps appearing instead of "primary task is calculating" when it is hid, and the icon is double-clicked, a message box "The grid agent has encountered a problem while attempting to send results to the grid server. This may occur if the Grid Server is offline for maintenance, or because your computer is not online. If you are not online, please initiate a network connection at your convenience. The Agent will automatically communicate when the problem is solved." However, my computer has just download a new Work unit!! After the work unit is downloaded, the rosetta shows a molecule that keeps rotating, but like the others, no progress is shown. i wonder if this is a bug.

My system. Intel Pentium M 715 (1.5GHz) 768M DDR SDRAM (PC133)
Windows XP SP2. Using United Device Program.

Re: 24 hours and 0% completion?

] Jonathanmok, not sure if your Agent is Paused as you write or is stuck at this zero progress without the line-graphs showing anything, nor the progress bar, also in the 'i' screen, not getting ahead in 0.1% steps. If latter, kill the UD_7xxxx.exe process and the Agent will get a new one. The Puase message been reported before....see other posts/threads on this forum.

Re: 24 hours and 0% completion?

Re: 24 hours and 0% completion?

dpfender, try one more time, select taskmanager from pop-up menu by right clicking on startbar (or left depending on mouse settings), find UD_7xxxxxx.exe process, select, right click, terminate.....if that does not help, AND it does not go sending and receiving a new Work Unit, i cant help....your machine is jinxed.

Edit 6:55 UTC: Not wanting to bump post, 'Receiving 3352 byte of 3352 byte', then pausing, is a dead give away that min-specs are not met.

Re: 24 hours and 0% completion?

The program paused after it download a new piece of work from the server. Then i have to minimize it, and then double click it to show the message box. After i acknowledge the message box, and it starts to download a new piece of Work unit again. i know that is a new work unit, because the size of the data download is always different.

And i try to find the UD_7XXX...XX.exe, but all i got is UD.exe only.
My agent is United Device, and version is 3.0 (2844). the device ID is 191149. and i haven't accredited any score since early July, and i believe that should be related to the inability of calculating any data. it keeps sending and receiving the data, without processing!

Re: 24 hours and 0% completion?

Hello Jonathanmok,
It sounds as though your machine does not meet the minimum requirements.
http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewTopic.do?shortName=minimumreq

At least, that is my first guess.

Lawrence

Added: just read your previous post. You meet requirements so -- Try a reboot. What security software are you running? Could it have updated in early July to something that blocks WCG?
