Re: Anime Addicts Against AIDS

Fushigi Yuugi is good, but I feel like it could be done in about half the episodes. It drags after a while, mainly in the second half. Iria's good, I like that. I saw the first episode of MAR on Toonami today and thought it was ok. It's about a kid who daydreams about this fantasy world, then goes there and it reminded me of myself in middle school.

Re: Anime Addicts Against AIDS

Speaking of Toonami, I watched the first episode of "Prince of Tennis" just because my Shu-chan was curious as to why in the world there were two musicals made based upon it. It was really lame. It was seriously just watching animated tennis. And not like the action shots, just stills. It had all the feeling of a turn based card game anime without the card game. It was that bad.

I've heard people like Prince of Tennis, but from your description, it doesn't sound too good.
In other news, my new Core 2 Duo computer is up and running! Prepare to see some big numbers!

Re: Anime Addicts Against AIDS

Perhaps its one of those series that takes a few episodes to get into. But man after the first one I didn't want to watch another one.
I currently have a pile of anime to watch sitting on my desk. They are:
EscaFlowne - entire series
Elfen Lied - Volume 1
Kizuna - Volume 1
Gundam Wing - Episodes 10 - end
I'll drop my thoughts in here after I have a chance to watch them.

Congrats on getting the new computer up and running! Can't wait to hear how well it does!

Re: Anime Addicts Against AIDS

How's this for results?
Old computer: average 1.5 results per day
New computer: 35 validated results in the first 4 days of operation
Because I'm running BOINC, not all of my results have been validated yet. There are 15 results still not validated (and one from the old computer). 50 work units in 4 days! I'd say that's pretty good!

Re: Anime Addicts Against AIDS

Awesome garooob! Keep kickin' out those results!

Alright, so I've been rotting out my brain with anime this week.
Rewatched the whole series of Neon Genisis Evangelion; still love it.
Watched the entire series of EscaFlowne; liked it except for the ending. Why'd she go home?!
Watched the first volume of Elfen Lied; I HAVE to know what the HECK is going on in this series! Must watch the rest of it!
Watched part of the first volume of Kizuna; WTH?! I mean, yes, it's yaoi, I knew that. But, BLEH! I didn't get through the whole disk.
Watched the first four episodes of ThunderCats; still love it, but wow it's totally amusing watching it as an adult. Sort of like reliving Voltron now that it's on TV again.
Watched the first volume of Kodocha; PAH! Insanely amusing but WOW is it hard to keep up with the subtitles!

Have you ever seen FLCL? Now that's insane! I want to see Kodocha, too. Also on the insane list is End of Evangelion. Have you seen that? I showed it to my friend Scott and his reaction was "This would be really cool if I did drugs."
Have you ever heard of a JPop artist named Misia? Way back when, I downloaded a music video of her song "Escape." I haven't been able to find out much about her.

Re: Anime Addicts Against AIDS

No, I don't think I've ever seen FLCL. Kodocha was nuts. I couldn't keep up with the subtitles they were talking so fast and so many people at once! But, it was still hillarious! I've seen the End of Evangelion, but it's been a really long time. Like five years or something.
I've never heard of Misia. I'll have to ask my Shu-chan if she's heard of her. She knows so many random facts that I wouldn't be surprised.
Latest animes watched have been Gravitation vols. 3 & 4, Thundercats Season 1 Vol. 1 Disks 1-3.
Latest mangas read have both been yaoi; "Our Kingdom" and "Junjo Romantica".
I've been too busy playing SimCity4 and watching The Sopranos too keep up with my stockpile...
