Re: Anime Addicts Against AIDS

Yeah, I've thought of that, too. I can't buy green credits from Ameran (or if I can, I haven't found out how), but our electricity bills aren't too high as long as we don't have the furnace/ac on too much. However, having run my computer 24 hours a day at 100% for the last year and a half is the same as running it 5 hours a day for 7.2 years. I wonder if anything will burn out. I already need to replace all 4 120mm fans. Plus, I don't use my computer for anything really more intense than watching videos and surfing the net. I wonder if I'll build a powerhouse next time I have to build a computer. I've thought about something like an ITX with a VIA chip, but I wonder if that would be *too* low powered to do anything.

Re: Anime Addicts Against AIDS

Well, as far as new computers, buying a new laptop has been put off on my end. We're taking a two week vacation starting the 13th so there won't be any big purchases for us for a while.

I also keep forgetting to turn BOINC back on. *tsk* I bought "Fable" and it hates VISTA. I have to restart the computer with a clean bootup every time I want to play it and then restart it normally when I'm finished. I hate it. I have to play with no sound and then after I'm done I forget to run BOINC after restarting.

I know I'm not putting in the best numbers lately, even for our not so top of the line computer. And it's only going to be worse for the two weeks we're on vacation because the computer will be shut down while we're gone.

Re: Anime Addicts Against AIDS

If you didnt notice by now, I joined, and alreayd have given almost 24k points. yay me and my quad-core desktop and dual-core laptop running BOINC while im at training for the day... <3

Favorite animes hmm? Wolfs Rain is one of my all-time favorites, though I also like Berserk, Hellsing, Slayers, Death Note, Naruto and Bleach (though they are getting old again... ._.) and a crapton of others... I have over 300Gb of anime just on my Media drive right now, and probably another 100Gb of anime on DVD's... Way too many to name, especially now cuz I don;t really have time, seeing as I'm on a lunch break.

I'll have to add more later, I gotta go. Feels great to be in a team again though =D

Welcome to the team! It's always great to see new members, but even more so when they stop by the team thread. Yay!

Wolf's Rain! One of my favorites as well. I'm gathering up the series slowly... I'm trying to hold out watching it again until I have it all. It's making me crazy!

Re: Anime Addicts Against AIDS

Hey, good to have another member! And it looks like you might give my 2 Core2Duos a run for their money.
Slayers! Now there's a classic. I'm partial to many of the classics and was sad when Pioneer/Genon went under as they provided me with many of them. Though I still buy things the old fashioned way, I like to watch the first episode to see if it's worth my time. Most recently, I sampled Lucky Star, but I'm undecided about it. The first episode reminds me of Azumanga Daioh, which I liked, but I don't know if Lucky Star lives up to all the hype.
Anyway, happy crunching!

Re: Anime Addicts Against AIDS

Whoop, back from vacation.

Wow, you guys have been BUSY! Muchos cruncheros! (My fake Spanish for the day.)

My poor comp can't keep up, but we're gonna plug away at our own pace : )

I rarely watch stuff online. I don't know why, but I get annoyed that it's more of a hassle than just flicking the TV on or waiting for a DVD to arrive in the mail. Occasionally I'll stumble on something that actually works when I try to use it though ; )

Now I gotta go give my cats some lovin'. They're peeved that we took the dog and not them lol
