Thanks to Dylan !!
I had to push my transfers through as they were on a long retry delay, but I'm back to running MCM |

For what it's worth:
----------------------------------------The WU's that where stuck in transferring, now are uploading when I gave it a retry (that didn't helped yesterday). ![]() |

BOINC Manager's Tools|Retry Pending Transfers has just made [very] swift work of clearing out my backlog, which was a relief on some systems that had hit the "too many uploads" problem (for which Milkyway@Home was probably grateful!) -- I just wish I'd had a chance to check in here a couple of hours earlier...
Thanks to Dylan for sorting things out quite quickly once aware. Now what I'd like to know (apart from "What went wrong?") is the actual division of download and upload fanout points so that if there's another such incident we can flag it up a lot quicker... Cheers - Al. |

I'm getting the upload http error again...UG Yup -- I just checked at about midnight GMT/UTC and I found a couple, both in that range again, so it appears the fix was only temporary Initial failure points as follows ([abbreviated] information cut from BOINC Manager log) MCM1_0241592_6852_1:
And after filling in the above I went round all my systems again, fearing the worst, and found that my fastest machine had 8 tasks that all finished at about 00:30 on 02 Nov 2025 and failed to upload. They were also in the same grouping -- 158, 16a, 19c, 1d0, 1db, 1e0, 1ef, 1fc. Every other result seems to get uploaded and reported as it should. Ah, well -- I wonder if Dylan was still there when it went wrong again? If not, I'm guessing my backup project is going to cut in again when I hit the "too many uploads" limits again... Cheers - Al. |

----------------------------------------edit to add: all 4 of my WUs are stuck uploading, switching to backup project [Edit 1 times, last edit by Unixchick at Nov 2, 2025 4:17:48 AM] |

I think I have a problem with profiles. This is a representative entry from my log file when selecting "ALL DEVICES"; "Mapping Cancer Markers" project and "In Progress" for SERVER STATUS:
----------------------------------------MCM1_0241631_9778_1 <snip> In Progress 2025-11-02 06:28:28 UTC 2025-11-08 06:28:28 UTC In particular, I have made several changes to the profile for this system and I have seen no indication in the log file that the new profile was downloaded to that or any other computer.Items per page: 25 1–25 of 2309 items Currently, I only have about 8 of my 25+ computer systems online and my typical In Progress value should only be about 200-300 WU's. Further, of the 8 cores available, BOINC has decided to only use 3 on one particular computer - the others use all cores. Edited to add the Project Limits info: Africa Rainfall Project 4 Mapping Arthritis Markers Unlimited Mapping Cancer Markers Unlimited OpenPandemics - COVID-19 6 Anyone have any ideas? (I had wanted to wait until the upload/download problem was resolved before posting this.) [Edit 1 times, last edit by bfmorse at Nov 2, 2025 7:44:03 AM] |
